2 News For Our Parishes RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS AND DIOCESAN PRIESTS Help care for elders. Thanks to support from the Retirement Fund for Religious, we are now in a much better position to care for our elders, writes a religious sister. Your donation helps her religious community and hundreds of others provide for aging members and plan for long-term needs. Please give to next week s Retirement Fund for Religious collection. 75% of the funds collected will support retired men and women religious communities around the country, and 25% of the funds will stay in the diocese to support the retired diocesan priests fund. It is the day we remember all the little unnamed saints that have gone on before us. Masses will be Tuesday, October 31 st at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 1 st at 7:00 a.m. and 12:05 p.m. FEAST OF ALL SOULS The Feast of All Souls will be celebrated on Thursday, November 2 nd and we remember all those loved ones who have gone on before us. Mass will be offered at 6:00 p.m. at St. Therese Church. At this Mass there will be a special remembrance for all those who have been buried from our parish since last All Souls Day. Family members and friends of the deceased are encouraged to attend. An All Souls envelope is included in your monthly offertory mailing, and envelopes are available in the entrance of the church. The envelopes will be placed near the Altar for the Masses and will remain in the Church during the month of November. MASS INTENTIONS FOR 2018 Mass Intention Request Forms are available on our parish website or in the vestibule of the Church. Love of God should compel us to love the people whom God cherishes. Conversely, work for justice and charity for those in need should be rooted in our love of God. That connection and balance, however, isn t always easy to maintain in our lives. Even in religious orders we find that some Christians are more oriented toward contemplation and prayer, while others are more active in reaching out to those who are oppressed.
