St. Joseph Church: Our Music Ministry has prepared a beautiful program for our Christmas Eve Masses that will bring tidings of joy. Come early. St. Mary Nativity Church: Carols will begin at 4:45 p.m. for the Vigil Mass and our Christmas Eve Concert will begin at 9:10 p.m. All are welcome to attend and hear the Good News of our savior s birth. St. Therese Church: Our Music Ministry will present a program of Lessons & Carols beginning 30 minutes before our Christmas Eve Masses. We invite you to arrive for Mass early and take time to hear scripture and songs celebrating the birth of Jesus. Christmas Day Broadcast Tune-in to WMBS Radio on Christmas Day to hear the beautiful voices of the St. John the Evangelist and St. Mary Choirs (1:00 p.m., right after the news). Indeed, the Lord is near. Philippians 4:4-5 Today we draw nearer to Christmas in the 3rd Sunday of Advent, Gaudete Sunday. The readings tell us to be joyful. Gaudete means rejoice. Our meditation hymn Gaudete! Tells us Rejoice! Rejoice! Christ is born of the Virgin Mary. The hymns selected today reflect themes of joy and praise: With Joy You Shall Draw Water, Taste and See, Rejoice, the Lord is King. Within all the joy today, we sing our presentation hymn, The Peace of God. It is based on the scripture from St. Paul to the Philippians. In the hustle and bustle of this joyous season, take a moment to rest in the peace that can be found when we turn to God. Do not worry, reach out to God in prayer. - The Peace of God.
