6 GREEN / WHITE THE FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME Hello God, it s me We ve known each other forever; it s time for me to visit you in our Adoration Chapel. I will be a new adorer; I know you welcome new participants. I can take a regular hour or substitute, filling in for someone who needs to miss an hour. I already have a busy schedule; let me call to see what open times I might fill. Please call the office at Regular subs fill many hours each week; I JUST NEED SOME INFORMATION. I want to spend an hour in Adoration this week; I know I will quickly feel right at home. Entering I will say, Hello God, it s me! The spirit will help me know what to do and say next. I plan to listen to what God has to say. That s a good prayer. *********************************************************** RCIA Mary, the Mother of God, has held a high place of honor in our Church even before it became known as a Catholic thing. From the day that Jesus Christ uttered the words Behold Your Mother when he was dying on the cross, Christians honored Mary and welcomed her into their lives as their mother. Today the Church continues that tradition, but many Christians do not. What happened? After 1500 years some chose to go a separate way and selectively choose what they wanted to believe and celebrate and what they did not. For most of our Separated Brethren, Mary became little more than a part of the manger scene. She is brought out and displayed at Christmas to honor the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ, then stowed away with the other ornaments for another year. Therefore, it should not be hard to understand why most of our inquirers into the Catholic faith have questions regarding Mary s role. At this week s RCIA session we will introduce our candidates to our very important Catholic prayer, The Rosary. Archbishop Fulton Sheen said, "The power of the rosary is beyond description." We invite all to come and join us as we look into the history, scriptural reference and the reasons why this Good News prayer is so much a part of our Catholic faith and beliefs. Coffee is always on and discussions are informative. Come join us! ALL ARE WELCOME Your RCIA team
