2 The Solution Last week I wrote about how the Institutions of Marriage and the Family are under attack. How there are very few marriages today, and how people are often living in what we refer to as irregular relationships, not being Sacramentally married in the Catholic Church. And I talked about how I always say: What s the solution? Well last Saturday I had the joy of participating with one of our families - getting everything - Right! Dorothy Lehmann s first attempt at marriage didn t work out, and she wanted to become a Catholic. She conducted RCIA through Father David and with the assistance of Anne Stauffer, her teacher. Dorothy petitioned for an annulment and was granted that request in early April. She wasn t exactly sure what it meant and asked for an explanation. Having read the decree, I explained to Dorothy that this now made her free. Dorothy shared that after her divorce she met Frank and they were civilly married by a Justice of the Peace 11 or 12 years ago, and that they have a lovely daughter, Yvonne, nine years old, who is in our fourth grade Religious Education program at St. Ed s. When Dorothy learned that now she could become a fully initiated Catholic and be married in the Catholic Church, she was so excited! So we had a nice ceremony last Saturday morning. Yvonne read and helped serve, and their parents and family attended. Dorothy made her Profession of Faith, Sacrament of Reconciliation, First Communion, and she and Frank were married, with their daughter happily at their side. Three Sacraments, greater love and joy than I ve seen in a long time, and a beautiful reception at Basil s. And Dorothy will have been Confirmed this Friday. God has designed a great plan for most people s happiness Marriage, Family, and hopeful Children! And now Yvonne wants ot be an Altar Server! If you would like to talk, our door is always open. If you know someone who might be in a situation outside what the Church desires, encourage them to call their Parish Priest to talk. A lot can be also found by researching on-line about annulments and dispensations and getting one s marriage validated in the eyes of God. We will soon have informational pamphlets in the vestibules, and Fr. Marty and I are happy to provide additional advice and further resources. Again - We re all on the Mission to Save Souls and lead everyone to a good State of Grace for Heaven! And hoped for Solutions for Happiness, today, tomorrow, and forever! Gloria, fr. brian 2

These hands were graciously made by the parents of the students who are going to receive First Holy Communion on next Sunday, May 6th at 9:00 am. On the back side of each pair of hands is the name of a student to pray for. May your prayers help them as they ready themselves to receive the nourishing love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
