Your baby is soon to be nine months old. The baby weighs about five to seven pounds, and puts on about half a pound a week now. All organ systems are completing development for birth. In the days and hours prior to birth, the amniotic fluid is continually replaced at the rate of once every three hours. The immune system is still immature and the baby receives antibodies from the placenta and after birth will receive antibodies continually from mother s breast milk. The placenta will weigh about one eighth the size of the baby and the umbilical cord will be about the same length of the baby. The baby will be judged at birth, and, five minutes later with an Apgar score. This score measures five different signs of health- heart rate, respiratory rate, reflex irritability, muscle tone and color. Happy Birthday, baby! Wednesdays Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament is in the Adoration Chapel after the 9:00 am Mass and will end with Benediction at 7:00 p.m. The Divine Mercy Chaplet Wednesdays at 11:00 am in the Chapel. Every First Friday Every first Friday of the month there is a noon Mass to commemorate our patron, the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Eucharistic adoration will follow with Benediction at 6:00 p.m. Woman of Sacred Heart Church prayer group Meets every Wednesday at 6-7 pm in the School Library.
