2 Z Parish Meeting Y Please mark your calendars to attend a parish Meeting concerning the renovation of the Parish Hall. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 11, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm. We need to have the input of all our members. St. Mary s Parish News The flowers on the Altar today were placed in Honor of William Kennerty by Kate and Dave Stanton. Mr. Kennerty will celebrate his 90 th birthday this week. The Parish Office will be closed tomorrow, Monday, February 17 th, in observance of Presidents Day. Ladies (or men) Needed to do the Altar Care. Duties include: Polishing the silver urns, Holy Water bucket & gates, polishing the Baptismal Font cover, cleaning and refilling the Holy Water Fonts, wiping down the altar & rail, removing spent flowers, and replacing votive candles. Please contact Becky at or stmarysrebecca@bellsouth.net. Help the Seafarers Ministry by donating your old magazines and books. Bring your donations to the parish hall or call Paul Rosenblum at (843) for pickup. Time, Readers Digest and National Geographic are the most popular, but all types of general interest magazines are needed. Paperback and hardcover books are also needed. Mysteries, action, historical fiction, and spy novels are the favorites of the seafarers. We are also interested in any donations of prayer cards, rosaries, religious medals, or other religious items that you would like to give so that we can pass them on. Thank you for all of your past and continued support. Our Lady, Stella Maris, pray for us. Altar Server Training Current Altar Servers: There will be altar server training for all current altar servers for St. Marys at 10:30am, Saturday, 1 March. This training is mandatory for all current servers who wish to continue serving on the altar. Please Msgr. Brovey if you are unable to attend. Parents are asked to remain for the first 15 minutes of the practice. New Altar Servers: There will be altar server training for new servers at 10:30am, Saturday, 8 March. One must have made his/her First Holy Communion and be in the grades Parents are asked to remain for the first 15 minutes of the practice. St. Vincent De Paul will be collecting after Mass NEXT WEEK! May God be pleased to make it known to you, and fill you increasingly with His Spirit, so that through you it may be poured into the souls you guide, and your own soul may be more greatly sanctified! Charleston Catholic School News The Charleston Catholic School is now accepting open enrollment. The 21 st Saints Alive Auction will be held March 1 st, at Founders Hall, Charles Towne Landing. Altar Flowers Every member of the parish is invited to contribute to the beauty of our worship space by Providing the altar flowers on a particular Sunday to the glory of God, in memory, thanksgiving, or celebration of people or events that are important to that donor.please call the Parish Office for more information or to schedule a Sunday. The Sacrament of Matrimony Either the bride or the groom must be a practicing Catholic and registered at St. Marys for at least twelve months before scheduling a wedding date and beginning the six months marriage preparation. The bride/groom must be an active parishioner, regularly attending Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of obligation, and use the envelope system in regular support of the parish.
