Statistics from April 1st thru August 31st The Social Concerns office helped on an average of 53 people in 20 households each month. A grand total of 3,825 pounds of food and personal care items were distributed. We received 1,800 pounds of food from our generous parishioners. About 2,000 pounds of food was purchased with donated cash, scrip, and proceeds from our Fair Booth. General Announcements Check it Out!!! Our weekend Homilies are now recorded and uploaded to myparishapp SPARROWS NEST NEWS The Sparrows Nest s first resident graduated high school and is now attending college at Montana State University! This would not have been possible without the Sparrow s Nest. Please pray to St. Joseph, patron of builders, that the Kalispell Sparrow s Nest may be ready to house our homeless students as winter sets in. 4 ADORATION General Announcements Eucharistic Adoration is the greatest of actions and there is nothing greater or holier we can do on earth than this adoration. To adore is to share the life of Mary on earth when she adored the Word Incarnate in her virginal womb, when she adored Him in the Crib, on Calvary, in the divine Eucharist. As we celebrate Our Lady of Sorrows, let us join together in Adoration with Our Blessed Mother. If you have never been to Adoration, call , or if you have any questions. General Announcements VIRTUS TRAINING The next St. Matthew s Virtus (Safe environment) class will be held on Monday, September 25th from 6-9 pm in the Doran Center. This class is for staff and volunteers who will be working with youth or vulnerable adults. Those who take the Eucharist to the homebound should be taking this class. If you are in need of this class, please contact Karen Weaver at or at rickweaver1@msn.com. You must pre-register for the class but there is no cost to you. ***Tuesday Adoration now ends at 10:00 pm The time slot of Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00 pm needs to be filled. Please call Ruthann at if you can fill this time. All Women of St. Matthew s Parish If you are interested in nurturing your faith, enriching your love for Jesus and growing spiritually as the daughter of the most High God, then come and join our Women of Grace group. Tuesday mornings from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Doran Center. We will start our new year of study and discussion soon. We will be meeting on Monday, Sept. 25th at 6:00 pm, in the Doran Center. We would love to have some new faces in our group Christ has no body now but yours, no hands, no feet on earth but yours St. Teresa of Avila. We do good works, but also this is to include those who lift us up Spiritually, prayer is powerful! Looking forward to seeing everyone! 5 St. Matthew s Faith Formation K-12 Including 1st Communion and Confirmation Saints in Training Edge YDisciple October 4th October 4th Has started A Weekend of Healing and Hope Presented by Immaculee Ilibagiza October 6th and 7th in Butte, Mt St. Matthew s Women in the New Evangelization W.I.N.E. is offering this pilgrimage for ladies in the area for the low cost of $170. The pilgrimage will include: *A chartered bus ride to and from Butte *Appetizers/beverages provided on the bus *Bring a sack lunch for Friday *Hotel Accommodation, including breakfast *Tickets to the Conference *Pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Rockies *Lunch on Saturday is provided The bus will leave on Friday and return Saturday evening. 7 St Ma hew s Feast Day Celebra on Thursday, Sept. 21st 5:30 pm Mass with Eucharis c Procession Pig Roast to Follow We will begin with Mass including an Eucharis c procession around the church and school, blessing St. Ma hew s and the whole world around us with Christ exposed in the monstrance. An all parish pig roast will follow in the parking lot and cafeteria. Page 7
