Marriages To arrange a marriage at St. Charles, consult with a priest or deacon at least six months prior to the proposed date and before social arrangements. Attendance at Pre-Cana and Natural Family Planning Classes is required. Anointing & Communion of the Sick Regular administration of the Sacraments should be arranged for shut-ins by calling the rectory. Emergency sick calls anytime. Religious Education Program Instruction for all grade levels beginning with first grade. For information call the Religious Education Office. 2

Rosary and Novenas The Rosary is recited each weekday at 8:10 and 11:10 AM and on Saturday at 8:10. The Miraculous Medal novena prayers are said after the 8:30 & 11:30 AM Masses on Mondays. 4 PARISH MINISTRIES Stations of the Cross Every Friday during Lent, Stations of the Cross will be conducted after the 11:30 AM Mass followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel. Stations will also be conducted on Fridays at 7:30 PM. The Teen Club will conduct Living Stations of the Cross on Friday, March 27th and Friday, April 3rd at 8 PM in the Church. Lenten Bible Study Fr. Perez will conduct a Lenten Bible Study at 7:30 PM in the rectory on Monday, March 23. This is the final class. The study will focus on the Letter of St. James, the Letter of St. Jude and Catholic Catechesis. Please join us. 25th and 50th Wedding Anniversaries Couples celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary anytime during 2015 are invited to attend the annual golden Wedding Jubilee Mass with Cardinal Dolan at the Cathedral of St. Patrick, Saturday, June 20th or Sunday, June 21st at 2:00 pm. Pre-registration is required. Please call the rectory to register. The closing date to register for the Mass at the Cathedral is Tuesday, May 19th. The 25th and 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration will take place here at St. Charles on Sunday, May 17th at the 9:30 Mass with a reception to follow in the auditorium. Transfer letter from previous program for each transferring student NO CHILD WILL BE REGISTERED WITH- OUT ALL OF THE ABOVE For more information please call Office Hours: Monday-Thursday 9:00-2:30. Bakers are Needed! Baked goods are needed for the Holy Thursday reception taking place after the 7:30 Mass of the Lord s Supper. Baked goods can be dropped off in the school before Mass or in the rectory during office hours. To date our parish has received $108,640 in pledges/gifts toward the 2015 Archdiocesan Stewardship Appeal, from 411 families. For this Appeal to be truly successful, we must have the support of all of our families. It is not too late to make your gift. Thank you for your generosity.

Lenten Reflection We humans tend to think of generosity as a zero-sum game. I owe you one! we spontaneously say to someone who does us a favor. And what parent hasn t wondered aloud, You d think she could show just a little gratitude, after all I ve done for her. Like it or not, we are constantly in a creditdebit relationship with others. Small wonder, then, that we think of God as just another human with calculated generosity and a much deeper memory of our sins. Surely, he can t forgive this, we say, because we think God is just like us. Pope Benedict XVI speaks eloquently of God s love in Deus Caritas Est. Life in God, he writes, is like being immersed in a boundless ocean of love. No amount of sin, and no anxious clinging to lists of grievances, can overcome God s generous love. For reflection today, imagine sin as a stone swallowed up by an ocean. What stones do I wish to cast into the ocean, once and for all? In that same spirit: Who do I need to set free from the credits-debits list I ve put them on? Prayer: God, You show me how to love without condition, without clinging to past injuries. Grant me the grace today to love freely as You do today. Amen. Fr. Robert Barron
