4 Page Four THE CATHOLIC TOUR The Catholic Tour, a 30 year old Catholic Pilgrimage apostolate is pleased to announce its new pilgrimage for their Special to Rome, Italy. The pilgrimage will be from March 7-13, 2012 and is being done below cost to introduce all to The Center of Our Catholic Church at just $ including all land arrangements, superior tourist hotel near the Vatican most meals, motor coach, guide and air fare from JFK airport. Rite to Life Committee are in need of used children s winter clothes for both boys and girls including warm winter coats. If you have any or know someone who have any of these items in good condition you can drop them off. the Needy Mothers Support program located on the property of the Society of St. Paul s (Alba House on Victory Blvd. They will accept them on Tuesdays from 12 to 4 PM. TACHS PREPATION PROGRAM Mr. Thomas J. Courtney will be offering a Tachs Preparation Program at Moore Catholic High School beginning September 24. the program prepares students for the test of admission into Catholic High Schools. Students will be given instruction that will prepare them for the language arts, math, reading and analytical sections of the examination. It will be taught to 8th grade students. The program will be offered at Moore Catholic on six Saturday mornings beginning September 24 and ending October 29. the hours will be from 9AM to 12 Noon. We invite you to come and spend some time with our Lord present in the Blessed Sacrament. 90th ANNIVERSARY Our Lady Queen of Peace and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in New Dorp will enter into its 90th Anniversary Year. It will open with a Mass this Sunday, September 25 at 1:15 PM. The celebrant will be Rt. Rev. Francis Kalist, Bishop of Meerut. The fee is $30 per couple with lunch provided. 5 Page Five Our Annual Blood Drive will be held on Monday, October 10th. We will be taking donors from 2:30 to 8:30 PM in the school auditorium. Donors must be between the ages of 16 and 75, weigh at least 110 lbs and be in good general health. Most medications, including those that treat high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes will not stop you from donating blood. Every donor can save 3 lives in the community by giving blood - please join us. ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY UPDATE The call went out last Sunday that our food pantry was in need of food, and all week people have been dropping off non-perishable foods for those in need. Many thanks for your donations and rest assured the recipients appreciate your kindness. There is a box in the vestibule of the church and if you forgot to bring something in you may do so during the week or next weekend.
