4 Pygmy Child Care This concert is in support of Pygmy Child Care, a program for Pygmy (Bambuti) children displaced from their traditional forest homes and lifestyle by the continuing war in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. If 150 people donate $100 per year we can continue to provide 100 Bambuti children under 6 years of age with a daily meal, health care and educational activities. St Mark's Choir sings weekly to glorify God through their music and to enhance the Sunday 8.00am Choral Eucharist. In addition to hymns, the Choir leads in singing the psalm, communion setting, and anthems. The styles of choral music are diverse: 17th century to contemporary compositions; music of other cultures including spirituals; gospel and Latin American; a cappella and accompanied. The music is enhanced by the Walcker pipe organ and an electronic keyboard. The choir director is Deborah Mulcair; the organist is Lois Little. St Mark s organ St Mark's organ was built by E.F. Walcker & Cie, Ludwigsburg, Germany in At this time it was the largest Walcker organ in Sydney. It comprises two manuals and pedals, and is capable of sensitive accompaniment and varied solo performance. All ranks are independent and it has mechanical action throughout and slider chests.
