We are a community where questions are valued and where faith is experienced as a loving relationship with God and with all people. DURING TODAY S WORSHIP Large-print bulletins are available at the entrances. Individual listening devices for improved sound are also available from ushers. If your infant or child needs care or extra attention during the worship service you may leave the Sanctuary and return as you wish. Rocking chairs are available at the back of the Sanctuary. Our Church Nursery is staffed during worship and fellowship time. Children s packets containing quiet activities are available in baskets located at the back of the Sanctuary. Burgundy fellowship registers are passed for you to sign, so that we might know you are here; all worshipers have an opportunity to provide updated information and to greet one another by name following the service. Please silence all electronic devices when in the Sanctuary. IF YOU ARE NEW TO CALVARY Parking, several professional offices make their parking lots available to church members on Sunday mornings. Feel free to take an available space at the following locations, and thank these neighbors when you have the chance: Rose Medical Associates the lot runs between Klondyke Avenue and School Street, parallel to South Seventh; Northwood Realty near the corner of South Seventh and School (please do not park in their reserved spaces); Bonya, Gazza & DeGory lot on the left on School, near the light at South Sixth. (That office was once Calvary s manse.) The Indiana Borough Parking Garage is located at 650 Water Street. 3

All the hopes of Christian people are fulfilled in the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, making Easter the most important day of the church year. It reminds Christian people that we move from darkness to light, from sunset to sunrise, from sorrow to celebration, and from defeat to the victory of the love of God on Easter morn. 13 ANNOUNCEMENTS CALVARY S EASTER BANNER Calvary s three-part Easter wall hanging is composed of symbols which celebrate this most holy festival of the church calendar. At the center is the monogram, formed by two Greek letters chi (X) and rho (P), of Christ. This much used symbol of the early church is found in ancient Christian catacombs. The suns signify the joyful day of resurrection. The lilies are symbols of immortality. The bulb decays in the ground, yet from it new life is released. Butterflies also are symbolic of resurrection and eternal life. As the butterfly leaves the pupa and soars upward with a new body, so through Jesus Christ are his followers born to a new life by the death of the body. ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING (OGHS) Special OGHS donation envelopes are in the pew racks. Please make checks payable to Calvary and write OGHS on the memo line. SYRIAN AMERICAN MEDICAL SOCIETY (SAMS) DESSERT NIGHT This event on Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Calvary dining room, is sponsored by the Refugee Working Group. ICCAP FOOD OF THE MONTH Beginning April 8, we will be collecting canned and boxed soup mixes, canned stews, tuna, chicken and packaged meal kits, soda and oyster crackers, beef or chicken broth and egg noodles for soup. SERRV MISSION TRIP. Information is available on the Mission Table regarding the SERRV mission trip to New Windsor, MD, which is scheduled for September 10, 11 and 12. RWANDA PARTNERSHIP Copies of a brief newsletter from the Gitarama Presbytery, Nyarubuye Chapel (our sister church) are available on the Mission Table. TAKE-OUT VEGETABLE BEEF SOUP. The Mission Committee will be distributing delicious homemade vegetable beef soup following the April 15 service, made by the Committee members and bread made by Kay Smith.
