If you would like more information or would like to register, please call Deacon Jeff at , ext CLOW For primary-aged children and held during the 11:00 Mass. The children participate in the Liturgy of the Word with age appropriate material, then join their families for the remainder of the Mass. Have your child attend Mass with you and Father will dismiss the children after the Opening Prayer PREP Sign Up! Sign ups for our joint PREP program are now being taken. PREP is designed for public school/home school children grades K-12. PREP takes place on Sunday mornings at the Fenmont (St. Julie s) 9:45AM - 10:45AM. Pastor is simply the Latin word for shepherd, an image used by Jesus and an image to help me understand how I am to serve the Lord and how I am to serve you in the Lord. Jesus said, I am the Good Shepherd, I know my sheep and mine know me. That is what I am to strive for. I see The Shepherd s Call as a valuable way to call attention to upcoming events that contribute to the life of the parish and carry out our mission as the Church, the Body of Christ, in Hamilton. It also allows me to set before you needs, blessings, or other important information regarding the health of the parish. Often I will use it as a teaching tool. The treasures of our faith are vast: in the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus are found all treasures of wisdom and knowledge. In our modern world we are bombarded by so much information, so many responsibilities, so many distractions that we don t have time to appreciate what we have or we forget things we once knew. I hope this can be a tool to discover again the beauty and the wisdom of our Catholic faith. One of my irst tasks is simply learning learning what works, learning what is of value to the people of St. Peter s/st. Joe s, learning what are the things that we can do better. PETER IN CHAINS, HAMILTON, OH Adult Faith Formation Summer Series Church History The Early Church Fathers & The Councils of the Church Learn about and discuss the Early Church through the words and thoughts of fathers of the Church from St. Ignatius of Antioch to St. Augustine of Hippo. Later in the Summer we will look at the history of the councils of the Church, including how was the creed of the councils of Nicea and Constantinople were put together. ST. Jesus then said, Go and do likewise. This week you too can treat the poor with mercy, your neighbor in need, by putting a gift in your St. Vincent de Paul Sunday envelope. Know that your generous offerings help bring emergency help to our parish neighbors. Feedback from the town hall helped to finalize the plan that is being submitted to the Archdiocese. One particular area of feedback was around better communication about changes coming to the region. To address this, the committee will begin publishing weekly updates in the parish bulletins. We are excited to share news and activities from our Hamilton region. Stay tuned! McAuley High School Presents The Wizard of Oz - July McAuley High School s award-winning Drama Department is proud to present The Wizard of Oz as its summer musical. Shows are Friday, July 15 and Saturday, July 16 at 7:30 P.M., and Sunday, July 17 at 2:00 P.M. All performances are held in McAuley s Performing Arts Center at the school, located at 6000 Oakwood Ave., in College Hill. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors, and $5 for children under 10. Tickets can be purchased in advance at or at the door. VIRTUS is the Child Protection Seminar that adults who volunteer with children in any Catholic Parish must attend. Sessions are 3 hours and are offered at various churches around the Archdiocese. You could help the people who live next door, or the people that go to your church. But Jesus wants you to think bigger than that. Jesus wants you to help people all around the world - no matter where they live, and no matter what they believe. Prayer Dear God, show me how to help others around the world. Something to Draw Draw a picture of people holding hands all around the world. They are all our neighbors. Mission for the Week Ask your parents if your family could give money to help the missions in another country. 6
