Diodoro or Fr. Joe if any of the family members are infirmed and unable to attend Divine Liturgy on the weekend on a regular basis. The priest will administer both the sacramental mysteries of Anointing of the Sick and the Eucharist on the first Tuesday of the month. ICON WORKSHOP OF THE HOLY PROTECTION OF THE MOTHER OF GOD- On the weekend of Friday, October 13 to Sunday, October 15 Fr. Elias Rafai will be conducting a workshop at our parish how to write (paint) the icon of the Holy Protection of the Mother of God. If you are interested in attending the class please get more information from Fr. Diodoro. GREEK CATHOLIC UNION & PARISH 50TH JUBILEE HAYRIDE AND FALL FESTIVAL: SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28- On Saturday, October 28 after the 4:00 PM Vigil Vesper/Liturgy (approximately 5:30 PM) there will be a Hayride and Fall Festival at the parish hall and grounds. The hayrides will take place from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Admission is $5.00 which gives you a ride on the hayride and also a chance to win a large screen TV or other prize. There will be a Trunk or Treat for the kids to celebrate Halloween, a wine and beer garden, a pumpkin walk, sausage sandwiches and other food for purchase and other activities. Please come out and enjoy a wonderful evening with your fellow parishioners.

ANNOUNCEMENTS PILGRIM VOCATION PROGRAM The harvest is truly plentiful but the laborers are few. Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest that he send laborers into his harvest. (Mt. 9:37-38) We all have a responsibility to foster future leaders of the Church, priests, monks, nuns, deacons and laity alike, dedicated to serve God s people. One way we can all be involved in vocation ministry is through prayer. Next Sunday begins a special effort of Prayer for Vocations for all of the Byzantine Catholic Churches in the United States. This effort will begin with a special program of prayer on that day for the Pilgrim Vocation Icon. Everyone of the parish is invited to have this icon in their home for a week of special prayer for vocations. Please sign up on the sheet that is posted on the entrance counter. 7 PRIEST S MEDICAL INSURANCE SPECIAL COLLECTION: Please be generous with your donation of the special collection for medical insurance for the priests of the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Phoenix. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. DONATE CAKE MIXES AND ICING At each Fish Fry we offer a wonderful assortment of desserts. Please drop off your donation of cake mixes and icing in the Parish Hall kitchen. Our goal is to have 100 cake and icing mixes by September 30. Thank you! BYZANTINE CATHOLIC BIBLE STUDY CLASS on the Gospel of St. Matthew will be held on Monday, September 18 at 6:00 PM in the parish office conference room (8141 N. 16th Street). Please enter through main door on west side of building off the parking lot. Class is every Monday until October 16, a two-week break and then classes continue on Mondays from November 6 until December 11. All are welcome! We had an introductory class on the Bible last Monday, and we will start with Matthew 1:1 this Monday. We will be studying Matthew through a Byzantine Catholic perspective. ST. STEPHEN S YOUNG ADULTS GROUP- Are you seeking a joy-filled life? Wanting to thrive in the midst of busy lives and a modern, post-christian, culture? St. Stephen's Young Adults is a group dedicated to form community and to seek the knowledge of the life of Christ in all aspects of living: spiritual, intellectual, social, physical, and emotional. As members of this community, we will walk with each other, form each other, and grow with one another to find our identities in Christ, so that we might have life and have it more abundantly! All young adults, ages 18-39, single & married, are welcome! We will meet monthly and post events on the St. Stephen's bulletin and the St. Stephen's Young Adults PHX Facebook page. Our first event, is to be held on 9/23. Please join us for the St. Stephen's Young adult kick off! We will start with Divine Liturgy at 4pm, followed by a pizza dinner and fellowship. Bring friends! DIAPER DRIVE FOR LIFE CHOICES CENTERS- We are asking for donations of diapers to give to Life Choices Centers in the Phoenix area.
