What joy when, loving and being loved, we lived our lives together. Congregation: Their memory is a blessing forever. Months or years may have passed, and still we feel near to them. Our hearts yearn for them. Though the bitter grief has softened, a duller pain abides; for the place where once they stood is empty now. The links of life are broken, but the links of love and longing cannot break. Congregation: Their souls are bound up in ours forever. Friends, let s share our need with God so that God can share comfort, healing, life and peace with us through the meal. Confession God, You love us as a mother and father. We admit to you that we are needy today. Some of us are weighed down by grief and need your gentle arm around our shoulder as we hear you say, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Some of us have become aware of mistakes we have made, and ask you to help us make them right. And some of us have done wrong, whether accidentally or on purpose. We have injured others, or have disobeyed you. Please hear our honest confession of our need for your love, for your sustaining, for your forgiveness. All veterans are especially welcome. A free-will offering will be taken. Handicapped access is available via the alley. Thanks to those who: donated their treasures, helped set up and cleaned up, worked the sale, and provided food for workers. We brought in $640 for our mission work both locally and overseas. 11 Multiply Joy! Friends, we are fully into our Fall cycle of ministries here at St. Luke s. Among the exciting new additions, we have hired Rachel Potter as our fulltime Children and Youth Director! Along with her support team she is bringing new vision and energy to our Sunday School, the youth group called Impact! and Wonderful Wednesday programming! Also, a new Sunday School class for young adults (currently going through Max Lucado s Life Lessons from Mark) is meeting in the Wesley room. In coming weeks, I ll be telling about more of our life-changing ministries. The joy and satisfaction of helping change lives through supporting St. Luke s ministries is one strong reason why we give to the Church. Over the next several weeks we will be exploring why and how we can make personal commitments of giving for the coming year. We will consecrate these commitments on Sunday, November 25. Meal Assistants NEEDED Chef Matt Crow has agreed to coordinate and prepare Wonderful Wednesday meals again this year for St. Lukers of ALL ages during the school year, IF additional meal assistants help him make the meals possible! Assistant(s) are needed September through May from around 3:30 pm to about 6:00 pm to assist with meal preparations and clean-up.
