Please respect the privacy of the family in question and kindly do not reach out to them during this trying time. - Rabbi Kaufman OE Happenings COMMUNITY-WIDE TEHILLIM 4/2 A community-wide Tehillim gathering will take place at OE on Wednesday evening, April 2nd at 7:45 PM following Mincha/Maariv at 7:05 PM in the Main Sanctuary for the zechus of a refuah shleima for Sara Nechama bas Rus Malka and Rus Malka bas Sara, community members, who will both be undergoing serious operations on Thursday April 3rd. We ask everyone to keep them in mind in your tefillos for a refuah shleima, especially during this critical time. ANNUAL BOWL-A-THON The BOWLING SHOE-SHINE-A- THON to benefit OE, which took place on Shushan Purim, was a huge success! We are thrilled to report that Rabbi Kaufman bowled a score of 189 points! Thanks to the generosity of over 90 families, $160 per point were pledged, raising over $30,000 in support of our shul. 9 Bat Mitzvah Project Please Help Support Sophie s (Bat Mitzvah) Partying Penguins in the 9th Annual NOAH Bowl-a-Thon! NOAH is the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation and provides support, advocacy, and resources for those living with albinism. My parents found out that I had albinism when I was just 3 months old. Albinism causes a visual impairment due to lack of pigment in the eyes, so I can t see as far as or as clearly as other people. NOAH helped my parents understand that even though I have albinism, I can do anything! For my Bat Mitzvah project, I am raising money for the NOAH bowl-a-thon fundraiser because NOAH means so much to me and has changed my life so much! Any amount would be greatly appreciated, no matter how big or small. Thank you, Chaim Reiss Peace Of Mind Parlor Meeting Peace of Mind provides discharged Israeli soldiers, who have completed at least 3 years of active duty, time in Israel and in American host communities in which they can receive treatment for PTSD. JFVS Program JRecovery JRecovery, sponsored by Jewish Family and Vocational Service of Middlesex County (JFVS), is a Jewish self-help group whose purpose is to support recovery from various addictions using spiritual insights from Jewish tradition. JRecovery complements 12-step recovery programs by nurturing the spiritual

10 needs of those with active addictions or in recovery, and their families and friends. JRecovery participants include alcoholics, drug addicts, gamblers, overeaters, sex addicts, and their loved ones. Group discussions focus on the challenges of recovery. The discussions use the language and concepts of 12-step programs and a broad spectrum of Jewish spiritual teachings from every generation. The first meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 28, 2014, 7:30-8:30 pm at the JFVS office, 32 Ford Avenue, 2nd Floor (United Way Building), Milltown, NJ. The group will meet weekly at the same time and same location. JRecovery charges no dues for participation; all Jews are welcome.
