This grant was made possible by the generosity of their donors, many of whom belong to Congregation Ohav Emeth. We ask that you join them in supporting the Federation's work - so that opportunities like these continue to exist for other Jewish children. In addition to Federation's partnership with the Foundation for Jewish Camp and its One Happy Camper program, Federation invests in equally powerful programs that inspire our youth in a variety of ways including Israel Teen Grants, Impact DC, J Team Teen Philanthropy Program, Sandy Teens, Special Needs Camp Scholarships and Need-Based Camp Scholarships. Father s Day Blood Drive The temperatures have finally started to rise, and matzoh is but a memory for now. Mothers have been celebrated, and Shavu'ot will be over in May. What shall we do with June? Bleed our fathers dry, I say! No, not with camp/ tuition bills, but by participating in the Fathers Day blood drive on Sunday, June 21. Sure, it's not like going to a ball game or a barbecue, but you get to relax and lie down while giving, and there are snacks. Bring dad, and we'll try to arrange simultaneous donations. Now that's a fulfilling way to spend part of the day! The blood drive will be held at Congregation Ahavas Achim, 216 S. First Ave. in Highland Park. JEC / RTMA Gala Event This is an exciting season for the Jewish Educational Center as we gear up to celebrate 60 years of excellence and Torah learning at the Rav Teitz Mesivta Academy at our upcoming Gala at the Venetian in Garfield, NJ on June 17th, We are proud to announce that our honorees this year include: RTMA Alumnus Rabbi Mordechai Tokarsky (class of '88), National Director of RAJE (Russian American Jewish Experience); RTMA Alumnus and Rhodes Scholar Rabbi Chaim Strauchler (class of '95, formerly of West Orange, NJ), Rabbi of Toronto's Sha'arei Shomayim Congregation; Howard and Charlotte Block of Springfield, NJ - The Lev Tov Award; Dr. Brian and Shoshana Allen (nee Dessau) of Highland Park, NJ - Parents of the Year. Beyer Memorial Fund at ELEM Yvonne, Sam, Jeremy and Rachel Beyer, family of our dear congregant Howard Beyer, Z"L have created The Howard L. Beyer Memorial Fund at ELEM/Youth and Distress in Israel, connecting Howard's dedication to issues of troubled youth and his abiding commitment to Israel. ELEM/Youth in Distress in Israel is the country s leading nonprofit organization serving 20,000 troubled young people and an additional 100,000 youth who use ELEM online annually. These teens face tremendous challenges including domestic violence, drug and alcohol addiction, neglect, bullying, homelessness and prostitution, in addition to the stressors of living in Israel.

11 ELEM's programs, located in 40 cities, provide a safe space for Israeli youth and help them to recover, reinvigorate, and reimagine a positive future for themselves, their family and their country.
