Twelve additional lay auditors, men and women, were added for the fourth session on September 14, The named auditors represented Catholic communities, organizations, and countries from around the world. In addition, there were 21 Orthodox and Protestant groups represented at the council. + RCIA Are you, or someone you know, interested in the Catholic Faith? Did you know that a person can inquire at any time throughout the year about becoming Catholic, with no commitment beyond the interest of finding out more about what we believe and how it impacts our lives? The future of society... is rooted in the elderly and the young: the latter because they have the strength and youth to carry history forward, and the former because they are the source of living memory. A population that does not take care of the elderly and of children and the young has no future, because it abuses both its memory and its promise. + Books to Deepen Our Faith It s that time of year when we begin to think of the holidays and all the preparations they entail. A book is always a great gift for children and adults. In the weeks to come you will find suggestions here to deepen the faith of family and friends and don t forget your own faith! Reduced to Joy (Publisher: Viva Editions) by Mark Nepo. This is a book of seventy-three poems about the nature of working with what we re given till it wears us through to joy. Jonah s Whale (Eerdmans Books for Young Readers) by Eileen Spinelli. Wonderfully illustrated, this book tells the story of the job God gave Whale to do and how Whale responds. Bambinelli Sunday: A Christmas Blessing (Franciscan Media) Based on a beloved Italian tradition, this book tells the story of Allesandro and what he learns about family, faith, and love on one special day.
