Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, in St. Dominic Chapel, begins after the Tuesday 8:30 a.m. Mass and continues until Benediction at 6:45 p.m. We recite the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:15 p.m., Divine Office evening prayer (Vespers) and evening Divine Mercy Chaplet. prayed at 6:00 p.m. All ages are welcome. Please join us every Tuesday GREAT ITALIAN FEAST SAVE THE DATE! The famous Great Italian Feast is coming on Sunday, February 10 th, to the St Luke Parish Social Center. Hours are 4:30-7:00 p.m. and once again the meal features a self-serve buffet of many Italian favorites. This event is sponsored by the St. Luke Boosters in support of many worthwhile parish organizations and activities SOCIAL ACTION MINISTRY Christ has no hands or feet on earth but ours St Teresa of Avila CANS FOR THE HUNGRY: Next weekend, January 5 th -6 th, your donations of CANS of common vegetables (peas, corn, green beans, carrots) and fruits (peaches, pears, applesauce, mandarin oranges) are welcome additions to the nutritional staples of our hungry neighbors. This collection happens on the first full weekend of every month before and after Masses. Cans are collected in Kramer Hall. Thank you for your willingness to help those in need! HELP NEEDED TO PREPARE THE EVENING MEAL for guests at the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) shelter in Xenia on Monday, January 7 th and Wednesday, January 9 th. We prepare food for about 25 guests. A more accurate count will be available when the date gets closer. We prepare a casserole with meat, a salad (fruit or green), dinner rolls, a vegetable, a dessert (cookies or brownies are always good choices), and some punch (powder is fine). Always needed are snack packages (cheese or peanut butter) for the children s after school snack. Paper plates, cups, small plates and bowls (foam are the best for keeping food from seeping through), and plastic cutlery. If you can help please call Trudy at or trudysar12@outlook.com. WE ARE LOOKING FOR A PERSON TO ACT AS A CO- ORDINATOR for the evening meal for the IHN shelter in Xenia. beginning in January. Trudy is retiring to care for her ailing husband. We serve the meal two times a week (Monday and Wednesday) every other month. It involves putting a notice in the bulletin and answering the phone calls or s from the parishioners to let you know what they are preparing. Thank you for your interest in this ministry. VINCENT DE PAUL CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE THANK YOU: Our St. Vincent de Paul Conference thanks you for your love, kindness and generosity toward our fellow brothers and sisters through our Giving Tree program this Christmas season. Much joy and happiness was brought to the residents of Greenewood Manor, The Village at the Greene, Heartland of Beavercreek, Hospitality Homes, Beavercreek and Xenia Health and Rehab. A big thank you to the St. Luke parishioners and our SVDP members who helped with the transportation and distribution of the gifts. This year a total of over 300 gifts were delivered. From one resident, Please tell your parishioners THNAK YOU for thinking of us at this special time of the year. Thank you all for bringing joy and happiness to so many people you made Christmas a very special blessing for each and every family. We will explore these Revelations with Jeff Cavins as we study the Book of Revelations. Study is from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in Kramer Hall. The study guide is $25. CHILDREN S LITURGY OF THE WORD (CLOW): All children in the parish age 3-9 are invited to participate in Children s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) sessions at the Saturday 5:30 p.m. Mass and Sunday 10:00 a.m. Mass. CLOW is intended to help children pray better and reflect on God s Word. The children are invited to come forward for a special blessing toward the beginning of Mass and then they walk to St. Dominic Chapel with 2 CLOW leaders. CLOW continues to need 2 VIRTUS trained adults at each session of the 5:30 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. Mass. In our efforts to ensure the safety of the children who attend, we are asking that 2 VIRTUS trained adults sign up for this ministry. If we are unable to have 2 VIRTUS trained adults sign up, CLOW will not be offered at that Mass. VIRTUS Protecting God s Children Sessions on the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Decree on Child Protection: All employees and regular volunteers in the Archdiocese who have contact with children are required to be trained using VIRTUS materials.
