7 Hello, my name is... Roser Robics 9:30 AM Wednesdays & Fridays IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL All ages and skill levels are welcome as variations are shown, including standing exercises to improve balance and flexibility. This chair-based exercise class is appropriate for older adults and those looking to lessen the impact on their joints. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit... so let s glorify God, have fun, and move to the music through exercises designed to increase your endurance. THE COST: Donation-based BRING: 2 cans of fruit of equal size and weight to be used for class activities. Cans may be donated to the Food Pantry. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: The instructor, Melissa Merkle, is certified as an AFAA Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer and Health Coach. For more information, visit boomersnmotion.com, call Melissa at or coaches@boomersnmotion.com. The Membership Committee would like to encourage all of our members and visitors to introduce themselves to our pastors. While both pastors have gotten to know many since coming to the church, they tell us that they are amazed at the number who will shake hands and do not introduce themselves following the services. It is most helpful when the pastors get an emergency call for help and can put a face with the name. This would especially be true when trying to find a patient in a hospital where there is more than one bed in a room. Let s see if we can t make this part of their job a bit easier. Candles & Carols 8:30 & 10:00 AM SUNDAY, DECEMBER 10 A Service of hope, peace, joy and love A presentation of the Advent cantata by Pamela Martin and Mark Hayes. A candle is lit, a narration is spoken and beautiful settings of familiar carols with a newly written verse will be sung one piece for each of the advent candles: Light of Hope, Light of Peace, Light of Joy, Light of Love, Light of Christ. Enjoy familiar carols including O Come, O Come, Emmanuel, Hark, the Herald Angels Sing, and Silent Night. ORCHESTRA: flute, trumpet, violin, cello, piano. 8 The COMMUNITY CHURCH MESSENGER 512 Pine Ave PO Box 247 Anna Maria FL THE FLOWERS ON THE ALTAR in the sanctuary every Sunday are ordered by our church secretary, Cyndy Custis, and we rely on members of the congregation to sponsor them. There is a notebook in the Narthex where you can sign up to donate the flowers in memory or in honor of someone, or to celebrate a special occasion, like a birthday or an anniversary. Complete all the information and then mark if you wish to take the flowers home after the 10:00 service or if you would rather have them taken to a member who is unable to attend church. One of our deacons is happy to deliver them to a shut-in. After signing up, you simply put a check in the collection plate for $25, but be sure to note that it is for altar flowers. You may also give a check directly to Cyndy in the office or pay online. Since we have two flower arrangements on the altar every Sunday, there are opportunities for two donors to sign up for each Sunday. Because of the increased cost of the flower arrangements and the delivery charges, we will be increasing the cost per arrangement to $30 starting in January. There are some open Sundays between now and Christmas so please stop in the Narthex to sponsor some flowers this year. Year End Financial & IRA Tax Planning The Roser Endowment Committee is asking for your generous support. With all the tax debate in Washington, is the mandatory IRA distribution still in effect? Yes, and you can lessen the personal tax impact by directly transferring funds from your IRA to Roser Church. As a result of very good investment returns, our long-term funds have appreciated substantially, and we have a better cushion against catastrophic damage to our campus from flooding and hurricanes than we have in years past. During this wonderful period of thanks and gratitude, please consider allocating a portion of your mandatory IRA distribution to Roser. Avoid taxes on the distribution Lower your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) Reduce taxes you pay on Social Security Possibly reduce Medicare premiums If you wish to proceed, please contact your IRA custodian and Jim Bennington, Roser Board of Stewardship & Finance Chairman or Matt in the Church office ( ) for additional details. Roser Church Federal Tax ID: PLEASE NOTE: Giving envelopes will be available in the Narthex on December 31st. If you would like envelopes or would like yours mailed to you, please contact matt@roserchurch. com or call the office ( ). If you prefer to give online using debit, credit, or bank transfer, go to the secure GIVE page at or use the ipad in the Narthex to make recurring or one-time donations. 8 To receive eupdates [WEEKLY ebulletin plus] please sign up on the Sunday attendance pad, text ROSER to or scan code above. Please LIKE us on Facebook to receive instant updates and photos. CHURCH COUNCIL MINUTES and Annual Report are available in the Narthex. THE BULLETIN DEADLINE is every Monday at Noon. Please send your submissions to bulletin@roserchurch.com. SCHEDULE AN EVENT online at then scroll down and complete the form or call the church office. THRIFT SHOP TUESDAY 9:30 to 2:00 THURSDAY 9:30 to 2:00 SATURDAY 10:00 to 1:00 Donations are accepted on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Special arrangements can be made for other times.
