You formed us in your image and breathed into us the breath of life. When we turned away, and our love failed, your love remained steadfast. You delivered us from captivity, made covenant to be our sovereign God, and spoke to us through the prophets. Christ has died; Christ is risen; Christ will come again. Pour out your Holy Spirit on us gathered here, and on these gifts of bread and wine. Make them be for us the body and blood of Christ, that we may be for the world the body of Christ, redeemed by his blood. 4 COMMUNITY CHURCH Loving Christ Sharing His Grace Serving All These are powerful words and at Roser these are more than words. They are our commitment; they are who we are; they are who we will continue to be. You don t have to look very far to see these words in action at Roser. God s messages to us are powerfully presented by word and music on Sundays. Bible studies and Christian fellowship are evident in Sunday School, JOY (Just Older Youth), Terrific Tuesdays, Golfing for God, Tues@2 for women, the Guild and Roser Robics. The helping of hands, hearts and souls is provided by the Stephen Ministry, GriefShare, hands-on ministries and the Food Pantry. The outreach ministry to children at Vacation Bible School shows them how God is working in their lives. These programs and others are not limited to Roser members they are a dynamic. evangelistic outreach to everyone in our community and the surrounding communities. But Roser is not without its challenges. On our giving envelopes there are three boxes; one for giving to the General Fund; one for giving directly to the Mission of the Month; and one for Designated Giving. During the last four years all three areas of giving have increased each year. All are important, but only money given to the General Fund and undesignated money can be used to operate the church. Money going to the General Fund pays our staff, all our ministries, the utilities, the insurance, the maintenance of the buildings and grounds, the maintenance and support of our computers and copiers, the supplies that support our office, and on and on. Stated simply, our church, as we know it, exists because of your stewardship to the General Fund. While giving to Missions and Designated Giving are again up over last year, giving to the General Fund year to date is significantly under our budget by approximately 10%. We think this is due, in part, because we did not have a stewardship campaign this year and we have not made the congregation aware of our budget needs. If this budget shortfall continues, we will have a significant budget shortfall at the end of this year. The Roser family has always been faithful in its giving. We are asking you prayerfully consider your support to the General Fund and respond as God leads. Thank you for your faithful support of Christ and his church. It s easy to use by setting up your profile (one-time) and then specifying how and when you would like to donate. It automatically provides a record of all your online donations, which is handy for financial budgeting and income tax deductions. WEEKLY GIVING Numbered weekly giving envelopes are available from the church office. Envelopes can be placed in the offering plate or mailed to the church. An ipad is available in the Narthex to make recurring or one-time donations with credit or debit cards. If you make your donation using either of these methods you will receive a quarterly statement for tax deductions. 5

6 MISSION OF THE MONTH You can help print the New Testament and empower the Rendille people to find what they have been searching for food that truly satisfies. Wycliffe Bible Translators The Bible is one of the oldest and most popular books of all time. But is it just a book, or is it much more? We believe that the Bible is God s Word to us something that everyone should be able to understand in their own language. But more than 1,600 languages around the world are still waiting for a translation project to begin. When people finally get the Bible in their own language, lives often change in amazing ways. People are transformed as they are led to Jesus Christ and a right relationship with God. That s why Wycliffe Bible Translators exists to help these remaining languages get the Bible for themselves. And we won t stop until all people have God s Word in a language they understand.
