A copy of the birth certificate and attendance at our Baptism Preparation class are required. Baptism is celebrated on several Sundays during the year at 11:00 AM. Reconciliation/Confession Saturdays-4:30PM 5:00PM (And when mutually convenient for you and Fr. Chris) Marriage Couples wishing to marry must contact Fr. Cashman at least six months prior to the date they desire. Log on to for complete information about marriage preparation in the Diocese. Anointing of the Sick Anyone seriously ill may ask for this Sacrament of Healing. You may also request prayers and visits to homebound/ill parishioners. All who worship with us should be properly registered. We strongly encourage everyone to use our weekly envelope system. We depend upon your communal, spiritual, and financial support. Thank you! 2 St. Mary Star of The Sea Today we celebrate the Most Holy Trinity; a belief very difficult to try to explain. This picture is St. Patrick s famous attempt at explaining this mystery. This fundamental teaching and mystery of our faith invites us to continually ponder the relationship and oneness that is God. We will never be able to adequately explain or fully understand the Holy Trinity because we speak and think in human ways the Divine is beyond our human expression and comprehension. This does not discourage us! We know that God invites us to be part of this great mystery of His love! The Grand Unveiling & Re-Dedication of our Statue! May 29 10am Mass Last Saturday the cement was power washed to get rid of the remnants of the car crash. This past week we also added new plants and bushes. Remember, the statue was dedicated to our parishioners who died serving us in World War I so Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time for our ceremony. Please join us and honor all those who gave their lives for our freedom! Refreshments to follow in the Parish Center. The Lord Loves the Cheerful Giver! He also loves when you : 1) Do not use staples or tape on your envelopes 2) Write or circle the amount of your donation on your envelopes. I open and sort all the envelopes every Sunday. Having the amount on the envelope would be a big help. We shred all envelopes to protect your privacy. Tape and staples foul up & break the shredder. We are on our 4th shredder in 12 years. Thank you! Brooklyn As we celebrate the Most Holy Trinity, our two 2nd graders receive their First Holy Communion. We congratulate Lila Alicia Muniz and Ryan John Dugan! We are very happy with the way our program worked during this first year. My deepest thanks go to Erin Cunningham, Doris Palenque, Connie Pattison, and Angela Rizzuto for teaching our children and making the year a great success! Registration for our Religious Education Program (Grades 1, 2, 3, & 4) for has begun! Registration forms are available in Church and at the Rectory. You may also download the form from our website. Classes are set to begin on Sunday, September 18th. The four grades will have class in our Parish Hall and Chapel. 5th grade will be added next year. Please do not delay in registering your child for class size will be limited to better enhance the educational experience for your children. Thank you! The NYPD requests your presence to honor those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. THIS TUESDAY, May 24th at 11:00am, Patrol Borough Brooklyn South will remember all police officers who have died in the line of duty, at Our Lady of Guadalupe RC Church, th Avenue, Brooklyn NY Members of the families of those who have passed will be there and we ask you to pray with all of us at this most meaningful Memorial Mass. 3 The Most Holy Trinity The Mass Book for July through December 2016 is now OPEN! Please remember that Daily Masses become Funerals when necessary. When this occurs, the intention is moved to the next available 10:00 AM Sunday multi -intention Mass. We ask that you leave your telephone number when you book a weekday Mass so we may call you if the Mass you have must become a Funeral Mass. Masses may ONLY be obtained in person at the Rectory during Office hours. Masses cannot be reserved by phone or letter. Thank you! The schedule for June is available in the back of Church. JOURNEY OF FAITH We are on a long and eventful journey. Today s readings for Trinity Sunday succinctly cover the depth and breadth of our human travels. The very beginnings of our journey are revealed in the reading from Proverbs. God s plan filled with divine wisdom was born before the earth was made. In today s Gospel, Jesus speaks of his own personal journey. He has come from the Father and will return to the Father. Only then will the Advocate the Spirit of Truth take us onward. This does not diminish the fact that the journey will be hard. The very setting of the Gospel is the night before Jesus died. As Saint Paul writes to the Romans, [W] e even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope (Romans 5:3-4). Ultimately, our human journey is modeled by the Holy Trinity a family of love among Father, Son, and Spirit that we are all called to emulate. The collection for May 15th was: $ 2,656.00! WOW! $431 was in back envelopes! Please continue to bring in your envelopes from the weekends you were not here so that we can average $2,300 a week & continue to make necessary repairs. Thank you!

4 May 22, 2016 Non-Catholics are invited to join us in prayer. We kindly remind them not to come forward to receive Holy Communion. Catholics who are new to our Parish are asked to please introduce themselves to Fr. Chris after Mass. Registration may be done at the rectory during office hours or by dropping the parish membership form in the collection basket. Active parishioners are those who are registered, join us regularly for the celebration of the Mass and use the weekly donation envelopes. Only in this way can we issue documents attesting to Parish Membership and Catholic practice.
