2 Voices... I N T R O D U C I N G P A S T O R GABRIEL, SANT A M A R I A Who is Pastor Gabriel A. Marcano? I was born in the Maiquetia, Vargas in Venezuela on September 14. I am the only child of Jose Francisco Marcano and Maritza Aguiar. I began studying in the Seminary Mayor San Jose at the age of 16. At the age of 19, I made the decision to abandon the seminary and decided to go to the city of Caracas in search for a new horizon. With time, I came to know the Anglican Church, where I continued my theological studies, my vocation, and was called to serve at the Iglesia de Cristo. In 2011 I graduated as a professor of Spanish, Literature and Latin at the Pedagogico de caracas and philosophy the following year at the Catholic University Santa Rosa. I was ordained a deacon in 2010 and a pastor in After being ordained pastor, I was Vicar in the Cathedral of Santa Maria for three years. Using the gifts and talents that God gave me, I dedicated part of my time and studies to deepening the restoration, golden and sacred art of the church. In the same way, I stretched my career as a teacher up to the second level at High School Santa Tomas de Villa Nuevo and Catholic University of Santa Rosa. In 2013 I began the process of incarnation in the Greater Milwaukee ELCA Synod. I began my practice at Emaus ELCA. In 2016 I became pastor of Emaus, where I have many good memories. On November 14, 2017, my Venezuelan mother died. Her loss filled me with a deep sadness with which I resigned as pastor of Emaus. I replant myself with a new beginning of life and career. Like the popular phrase, What comes from the cure goes to the church, God had a new plan and mission destined for me. He knows what He s doing and He won t ask us to carry more than we can. Thank you, God, for placing in my care the Church of Saints and Saint Joseph. Thank you for sharing this path with me. ~ Pastor Gabriel Marcano F R O M MELANIE WULFEKUHLE, NEW SONG DIRECTOR All Saints Lutheran Church was one of my very first introductions to Madison when I moved to the area two years ago. This Iowan was received with nothing but the warmest of welcomes and the kindest of hearts. Ever since, I have been blessed with your faith, your voices, your prayers, and your compassion for others. Know that my decision to move on from All Saints at such a time of transition has not come without much prayer and consideration. I know God will continue to show us all the best path forward to do His work in this world. Thank you to Jen Barakat, who has been a guiding light from Day One of my time in this place. Thank you also to Pastor Rich and Pastor Naomi for their leadership, kindness, and passion for music. Thank you to Yana, Nancy, and Kristin for always answering the call for help with their musical expertise. Most importantly, THANK YOU to the New Song musicians who give freely of their time and energy to lead worship every week. Roxie, Roger, Camille, Mikhail, Darren, Jeff, and Caleb: your talents are a blessing, and I hope you will continue in your faithful ministry. Thank you all for the blessing it has been to share in worship with you each week. I hope that God will continue to bless All Saints in its mission to know, follow, and share Jesus. Sincerely, Melanie Wulfekuhle O U T R E AC H SURV E Y RESULT S Over the last three weeks, outreach surveys have been distributed during each service. This survey allowed our congregation the opportunity to share what ministries are important to them. With this information, we aspire to better focus our attention on those ministries that define All Saints. Out of the nineteen listed programs, top ministries are St. Mark s Food Pantry and the Good Neighbor Personal Essential Pantry. During the month of May, we are collecting food for St. Mark s during the Pack the Back campaign. Please visit page 7 for more information. Thank you for supporting our surrounding community!

We also need help with decorating two of the classrooms for that perfect Shipwrecked feel! For questions, please contact VBS co-coordinators Ashley Goodman (apgoodman2413@gmail.com) or Jen Barakat (jennifer.l.barakat@gmail.com). S U M M E R V O L U N T E E R O P P O R T U N I T I E S Aside from assisting on Service Teams, we could use a few more volunteers to help run projection during services, especially at the second service (10:00 am). If being outside is your thing, summertime always brings a host of outdoor opportunities for sprucing up the church property. Simple tasks like weeding the rock beds in the parking lot, weeding/ mulching the flower beds running along the main entrance, and washing outside windows all make a tremendous differences in the appearance of our property. By giving an hour of your time here and there per week, you will be delighted in the results!
