The Executive Committee will meet for breakfast on Saturday, March 30th at 10:00 AM at The Cornucopia Caterers, 4941 Parkside Avenue. Hosting this meeting are Brothers Nathaniel Teagle, Sr., Khalil Sufi, Willie Blue, Thomas Logan, George Hatten, Douglas Tolbert and Alexis Greaves. If you are a committee chairman or co-chairman, you are expected to attend. Those Brothers giving reports should have written copies for the records. Any chairman unable to make this meeting should call Brother Lamb at ( ). Any Brother not a member of the Executive Committee but wishing to attend should call Brother Teagle, Sr. by Wednesday, March 27th at (215) The regular monthly meeting of 'Mighty' RHO Chapter will take place on Monday, April 1st at 8:00 PM at the Center In The Park, 5818 Germantown Avenue (Germantown and Rittenhouse Street). Fraternal fellowship begins at 7:30 PM. Among the special guests expected is Congressman Thomas Foglietta. -EDITORIAL- WHO IS BETTER? RHO Chapter has been fortunate to have been sought out to be given full exposure to the two candidates running for 30th General President of our great Fraternity. BROTHER ROY MANLEY OF OHIO and BROTHER ADRIAN WALLACE OF LOUISIANA both consider the votes of RHO Chapter and the Eastern Region to be very important in deciding the victor of this race. Both candidates, and their representatives, have kept in close contact with our President throughout the process. It is the position of this Fraternity that each candidate is more than qualified to do the job. So how do we decide who is better? Sometimes, we have to look to our local leaders to help us make decisions of this nature. However, in the case of this election, that should not be the circumstance - for each candidate has visited RHO Chapter more than once. Each candidate was given the opportunity to present himself and his platform to you. Each candidate was received well by RHO Chapter. Each candidate was happy to come before us. We'll have one more opportunity to see these Brothers before we have to make that important vote. (As financial members, its our duty - for the good of the Frat!) Brother Manley and Brother Wallace will be in attendance at the regional convention in Rhode Island. This will be our last chance to compare M^tilv^ t>eeb, scholarship &v\t> love for <*11 wanumfc Arc tlie Aims of our t>e«*r fraternity.
3 for ourselves. This will be our last chance to hear the promotions. This will be the last time we'll be able to 'press the flesh' with a prospective 30th General President. We'll have to decide after this. Come what may, one will win and one will loose. Will it be General President Manley or General President Wallace on January 1, 1997? It is all up to you! You are more than able to decide? Have you made up your mind? Is the die cast? Your decision is important. However you decide, make sure that you vote. DISTRICT V CONFERENCE HELD Background Information: District V of the Easiern Region of Alpha Phi Alpha encompasses the vast Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Brother Jeffrey C. Hill is the Director of District V. The district is divided into four areas. RHO Chapter is in Area II and Brother Kevin Lamb is our Area Director. Also in Area II are Delta Pi (Cheyney U), Nu(Lincoln U) and Zeta Psi (West Chester U) chapters. These college chapters come under RHO Chapter's guidance. (I didn't know that!) On Saturday, March 16th District V was in conference at Temple University, utilizing Speakman Hall and the Student Activity Center. It was well attended from across the state. RHO Chapter was represented by Brothers Slaughter, Kevin Lamb, John Thomas, C. James Trotman, Gregory Wellons, Roj bert Payton, Darian Gill and Charles Hardaway. Also in attendance was I Brother Roy Manley, candidate for 30th j General President and Brother Christo- I pher Tyson of Beta Chapter (Howard U),! candidate to Assistant Vice-President of the Eastern region. A report will be given at the April meeting. EASTERN REGION TO CONVENE Thursday, April 11th through Sunday, April 14th are the dates of the 64th Eastern Region Convention in Providence, Rhode Island. Brother Samuel G. Wilson of Washington, D.C. is Vice-President of the Eastern Region. The headquarters hotel is the Westin Hotel. RHO Chapter has chartered a luxury motorcoach (Bus) so that many of us can travel together and leave the driving to someone else. If you haven't reserved your seat, see or call Brother Vice-President Lamb very soon. RHO Chapter's delegation will be led by our President and we intend to capture the title of 'Chapter of the Year' for ourselves and for our district. Additional registration forms will be available at the regular monthly meeting. WViM Viavc \\O\A t>ovte for AlpViA fot>avf? Alpli^ Phi Alpta, the prifcc of our hearts Anb Joveb b\\ t>earfy ^rt thovr.
