This will be a very important event since we will be electing officers for The nominating committee will be working on a slate of officers and we ask that you let us know if you are interested in seeking an office. We really need dedicated leaders to help move the Fellowship forward. The board also wants to minister to all members and member churches in the Fellowship. We want to preserve the mission of the organization and also move into the future with new ministries. We realize that there is a generation change and maybe a void in the church about the Fellowship s mission. Please let us know if the TCMF Executive Team can visit your church or district and present a workshop on TCMF. We really do need to be concerned about our churches and support each other. WE Are Better Together! Rev. Will Moore, TCMF President Greetings TCMF Members, Elder Robert Loftis, Vice President 136 TH TCMF ASSEMBLY PLANS The TCMF State Board has been working on plans for the next Annual Fellowship Assembly. 5 DISCIPLES WOMEN S MINISTRY The TCMF State Disciples Women s Ministry hosted its Annual Spring Workshop at Thirteenth Avenue Christian Church in Corsicana, TX on April 8 th, :00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Registration was $10.00 and will began at 9:30 a.m. The theme was Called For God s Purpose from the Bible Study 2018, Just Women Magazine. The workshop leader was Donna Williams, St. James C.C., Sommerville, TX. President Sally Green presided over the meeting and Vice President Cheryl Smith was the program director. TCMF DIRECTORY INFORMATION An effort to produce an accurate directory of all TCMF Churches and their ministers is under way. All churches are asked to send their complete address to Rev. William Smith, 3318 Bonnie Lea, Greenville, TX (william.smith@tasb.org) or Sis. Joyce Holt at 836 Henry Circle Dr., Hawkins, TX ( jholt@jarvis.edu). Be sure to include the physical address as well as the P.O. Box Number and zip code. For pastors, please include the pastor s and his wife s name, address, and phone number. Also, each church is asked to submit a contact person other than the pastor with all of their information. This will allow us to better communicate with the congregations. Please! Please! Please! Thanks! TCMF CLUSTER LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUMS This was the first year we did not have an Annual Fellowship Assembly, due to the resolution passed at the 2017 Assembly in Arlington, TX, to transition to a Biennial Assembly. Instead there were two Clusters held. One was held at Rising Star C.C. in Greenville, TX for Districts 1,2 and 3 on April 7, The other one was held at St. James C.C. in Sommerville, TX for Districts 4 and 5 on June 9, Both were well attended. In fact more members were involved than we normally have at the Fellowship Assembly. The program included the following presentations: Disciples 101 Information from each department and ministries of TCMF; 52 Ways to Ignite Your Congregation; Disciples of Christ Yearbook Report; Region Updates; Determining Your Leadership Style; Communion Training Session; Mission of the Church. Tera Daniels, Christian Education Director planned and coordinated the Clusters with the input of the Board.

There will be a presentation on the history of the Black Disciples and a motivational message for the men attending. Each participant will receive a copy of the study book for the TCMF Disciples Men s Ministry for Each church is asked to send at least two men to this Gathering so they can go back and share the information with their local congregation. The registration for the event is $30 per person which includes the meals, program and book. TCMF Disciples Men and Rev. and Mrs. Brian Fenwick constructed the Clothes Closet for students at Jarvis Christian College. The college is seeking donations of new or slightly used clothes students can wear to job interviews and other business events. See attached list of items needed for more information. Rev. Dr. Claude Walker Alpha: January 13, 1934 Omega: July 27, 2018 Texas Christian Missionary Fellowship joined the whole Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in celebrating the life and legacy of one of the most revered pastors ever to serve the church on August 8, The celebration was held at East Dallas Christian Church, Dallas, TX., Rev. Deborah Morgan Stokes, Pastor. Reverend Alfred Walker, pastor Bonnie View Christian Church was the officiant and Rev. Dwayne Rodgers was the Eulogist. Reflections were made by one of his sisters; his pastor; Dr. Timothy James, National Convocation, Dr. Larry Ross, North Texas Area, Dr. John Foulkes, Indianapolis, IN., Dr. Newell Williams, Brite Divinity School, TCU, Rev. Claude Maples, Rev. and Rev. Caesar Rentie, chaplain. Resolutions were presented from Bonnie View C.C., TCMF read by Mary Lewis and written by Joyce Holt, Jarvis College; and Omega Psi Phi International, Inc. His beloved wife, Minister Sherley Walker, reported that he planned the service and she made sure it was conducted according to his wishes. At its Annual Fellowship Assembly, TCMF presented the Legacy Award to Rev. Walker and dedicated the program booklet to him. That dedication page was included in the program for the memorial celebration. It was a befitting celebration for a life well lived. We loved Dr. Walker and will all miss his wise guidance and teaching, but we will see him again if we follow his teachings.
