PRAYING FROM THE PEWS My Father s house will be called a house of prayer. Matthew 21:13 (They were) praising God, and having favor with all the people.acts 2:47 Father, give our church a love for You that is honest and expressed at all times in praise of Your great love. Christ said that if He were lifted up, He would draw men to You. We pray that we will continually lift the name and praise of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. May we never be guilty of offering our praise to one another or to an idol, but only to Christ, the name that is above all names. Teach us to worship in Spirit and in truth so those who do not know You will be drawn in to relationship with You. We pray all we do is focused on glorifying You and never on bringing attention to ourselves. Cause us, in all things, whether good or bad, whether we understand or not, to give all praise to Your name. Amen. Prayers from the Pews by Terri Lynne Underwood UPPER ROOM DEVOTIONAL July-August 2018 The Upper Room devotionals are now available at the Mission Corner cabinet in the hallway by the sanctuary. Enjoy a quiet moment in your busy day with a suggested scripture, a short devotion, and a prayer focus. July 6 Prayer: Dear God, help us to quiet down and make time for you so we can put our focus where you want it to be. Amen. Today s Anthem Not What My Hands Have Done by David Schwoebel Not what my hands have done can save, can save my guilty soul; not what my toiling flesh has borne can make my spirit whole. Not what I feel or do can give, can give me peace with God; not all my prayers and sighs and tears can bear my awful load. Your voice alone, O Lord, can speak, can speak to me of grace; Your power alone, O Son of God, can all my sins erase. No other work but Yours, O Lord, no other blood will do; no strength but that which is divine can bear me safely through. I praise the Christ of God; I rest on love divine and with unfaltering lip and heart I call this Savior mine. My Lord has saved my life and freely pardon gives; I love because He first loved me, I live because He lives, He lives. I praise the Christ of God; I rest on love divine; and with unfaltering lip and heart I call this Savior mine!
