1 Trinity Tidings for May 2018 Trinity Lutheran Church 130 S. Walnut St., Wernersville, PA, 19565, , facebook.com/trinitywernersville Pastor Julie Osterhout, Deacon Carol Koch, Musician: Nancy Moyer, Sexton: Jamie Black The BIG Thank You So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God. (Ephesians 2:19) How wonderful to know that no one is left outside of God s family. We are all united as one through our baptisms. We become members of a holy household. We are welcomed and treated like family though we may bring with us different ideas, styles, cultures, and ethnicities. We are all saints in this global family of God. We are all part of the Body of Christ. And so it is this welcoming of us into God s arms that we, too, are to embrace others with holy hospitality and grace. This is how Pastor Bruce and I feel now that we have settled into our new home on E. Gaul St. And so now that Lent has passed and we are now into the season of Easter, we have had opportunity to reflect and be grateful. On February 23, we opened our house for all to see. How truly marvelous to have so many people come share that day with us from both Trinity and Zions Perry Township. People came steadily from Noon until 9:00pm at night. There was a 20 minute lull at 5:00pm which was perfect for refreshing our table of goodies. We truly did not expect all of the house warming gifts that came to us: handmade items, candies, wines, decorative items, cards, gift certificates, personal meaningful gifts, and most importantly your presence. Thank you, thank you, thank you. We will never forget those who helped with moving, painting, and other hard labor in preparing our home for occupancy. Thank you to those who provided meals as we worked to care for our church families, sand floors, paint walls, and unpack boxes while trying to prepare for Christmas all at the same time. We have had opportunity to visit on foot some of the local places around town. What a blessing to be able to walk to Paradise by the Slice, the library, the Twisty Cone and various shops. We are truly looking forward to even warmer weather and fun with the grandkids. Wernersville is a great place to live. And we thank all of you for helping us to make it our home. You have without doubt extended open arms of hospitality and warmth. You have all been eager to share the stories and history of Wernersville. As foreigners, you have made us feel accepted and cared for. Again, thank you for the many gifts and greetings of the day. We will cherish those memories. May God continue to bless our ministries together. May God continue to bind us together in community and love. Peace and grace, Pastors Bruce and Julie 1
