3 No one is ever coerced to come forward This emphasis teaches us all about healing 5:30 Saturday/9:30 Sunday BOOK BAGS for CONRAD WEISER EAST In 2008 our Social Ministry Committee started a new tradition of supplying book bags packed with goodies for Conrad Weiser East pupils who are in need. They don t need to be elaborate but something that will do the job. Our blue gray tub will appear on the windowsill on July 8th. We ll be looking for AT LEAST 15 BOOK BAGS and THE STUFFINGS (no Scissors) for elementary age pupils through Sunday, August 12th. You can bring one item, or several items to fill a book bag and/or you can bring a book bag. Any combination of donations will be gladly accepted. Volunteers will assemble and deliver to the school August 13 th.

4 Please share your musical talent with us. Don t be shy. It s a real treat for the Congregation to hear you. We have openings on July 8 th, July 22 nd, and August 26 th. See the sign up sheet in the narthex. Congratulations men! We did it again! We wowed the congregation on Father s Day when we sang. Thanks to all who participated. While your admittance to a hospital may be a traumatic event, please try and remember to call me. This is a great way extended family can help the beloved who is ill. P.D. 5 Growing tomatoes, peppers, eggplants? Have a garden? If God blesses you with an abundance bring your overage to the crate. If you don t have a garden or are not growing what s in the crate take what you would like, leave a donation. All donations will be given to World Hunger. A transfer was granted to Leslie, Andrew, Jacob, and Joshua Plummer to Trinity, Robesonia. Have you taken notice that the other three spotlights over the front pews are gone? 1. They will be painted white. 2. They will be retrofitted for an LED lamp. 3. They will be re-installed with LED lamps. 4. This means that all will work and we will save money. YOUR MAINTENANCE-REPAIR FUND AT WORK We sponsored Baccalaureate Worship at Conrad Weiser High School. What does that mean? Pastor met with principal, faculty adviser and music department.

6 Pastor secured Chaplain at Bethany to preach. Carol rehearsed the bells. We took our bell choir and shared two numbers. Nancy Moyer played the hymns of the keyboard. Confirmands helped write the graduation prayers. Madison Moore, Carly Kurtz, Kevin Gemmell, and John Kurtz prayed these prayers. Carol prepared baccalaureate bulletin/500 copies. Team of four collated. Pastor saw that hand candles and altar candles were placed. Pastor attended baccalaureate rehearsal. All to be present in our community.. Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Richard Hummel who purchased a Pascal Candle in honor of their children and grandchildren. 8 Another year and another heartfelt thank you to all who signed up and said yes to our calls and pleas for help at the Strawberry Festival. It is our pleasure to speak with you each year. Your willingness to help is in so many different ways is greatly appreciated, it is a big factor in the success of the festival. Anne Marie Rinehimer

9 Thank you to everyone who donated books, DVD s, VCR tapes, cassettes, CD s and puzzles. A special thank you to Kathy and Izannah Bahore, and Mary Young who sorted and priced our donations prior to the big day. They also came back the following week to sort through the remains and determine what would be retained for next year. Thank you to Carolyn Kurtz, and Pamela Moyer for helping me at the table the day of the festival. 11 And to prevent The facts speak loudly Malaria kills a child every 45 seconds Average African child experiences episodes of malaria each year 60% of clinic visits are due to malaria in areas where the disease is prevalent. $500 is being forwarded to the campaign. When someone dies you can choose Trinity Lutheran Church s Memorial Fund as a place where donations/memorial money can be sent: People write a check to Trinity. The check arrives at the church. It is immediately given to Carol Koch who records it. After it is recorded it is given to Bob Bashore, Endowment Fund Treasurer for deposit (the Endowment Committee serves a double function-oversight of Endowment Fund and Memorial Fund). Carol acknowledges the gift with a note to the giver. After a time period, Carol creates a list of all donors for specific person and sends that list to family representative of the deceased. After six months, or a comfortable time period, the pastor visits and previews options for use of the memorial money: (1) Approved memorial gift list. (2) Deposit in Endowment Fund principal (3) Or leave in Memorial Fund for accumulation with other monies and memorial fund people decide. Church Council Highlights for June 1. 12 Fund youth attended end of year bash at Charlotte Moyer. Thanks are extended to Charlotte and the youth. 3. Staff evaluations are in the process of being distributed. They must be completed and returned by 7/ Pictorial Directory is coming soon. 5. Baccalaureate was a great service and well received. Dear Kids and Parents, I attended synodwide assembly last week and where I learned that we still have openings at our church camp, Bear Creek, which is not too far from Wilkes Barre. Church camp lasts Sunday afternoon through Saturday noon. Would you be interested in attending? It costs $ and we have money to help pay that cost. Camp lasts through July into early August. Interested? Have Mom or Dad call me. P.D The Conrad Weiser Middle School PTO (347 E Penn Avenue, Robesonia PA) is currently recycling old shoes. We are accepting men s, women s, and children s shoes and they can be dropped off during business hours at the middle school office. These shoes will be sent to developing nations to be reused.
