Mr. Anderson died Saturday, October 21, 2017 in Standing Stone Care & Rehab in Monterey, TN. He w as born October 8, 1941 in the Cherry Hill Community of DeKalb County to the late Marvin and Lucille Maynard Anderson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Anderson. He was a 1959 graduate of Baxter Seminary and attended Tennessee Tech University. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a retired Supervisor of Installation at GTE with 28 years of service. He retired in 1994 and moved to Crossville in He enjoyed fishing, cooking and gardening and spending time with his four-legged friend, Shadow. Survivors include wife of 49 years (Married September 7, 1968 in Richmond, Indiana) Sandra Sandy Wisenberg Anderson of Crossville, daughter Kimberly Anderson of Madison, Alabama, son and daughterin-law Jeffrey and Beth Anderson of Richmond, Indiana, grandchildren: Ali Anderson and Evan Anderson. A native of DeKalb Co., TN he was the son of the late Silas F. and Maggie Eastham Anderson. SILVER POINT Memorial services for Lois Ruth Smith Anderson, 93, of Silver Point, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at Silver Point Church of Christ. She peacefully passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, in the home built by her grandfather, where she had many childhood memories. She reflected that she courted her husband, John, in the parlor. Mrs. Anderson was born Dec. 6, 1919, to Norman and Vora Smith. She had a long career as an educator. She began her career teaching in a one-room schoolhouse at Cherry Hill. Mrs. Anderson then taught at Baxter Seminary and Lipscomb University, and then for many years as a professor of English at Tennessee Technological University, from where she retired. Mrs. Anderson was an avid community leader and was very active in Silver Point Church of Christ, as well as Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. After her retirement, she volunteered thousands of hours at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She and her late husband were both very active in the Republican Party, both serving as delegates at national conventions. Mrs. Anderson was also elected as Tennessee State Republican Chairwoman. Her family includes a sister, Wanda Smith Briggs; numerous nieces, nephews and their families, as well as her foster children, the Baker family. She was preceded in death by her husband, John O. Anderson; two brothers, Norman Smith and Warren G.

3 Smith; and a sister, Ruth Lucille Smith Whittaker Clark. Burial will be in Maynard Cemetery (Cherry Hill) in DeKalb County. Mr. Denny died Tuesday, September 7, 1993, in Cookeville General Hospital. Born in DeKalb County on October 7, 1902, he was the son of the late Charles and Floretta Butts Denny. Mr. Denny was a farmer and a member of Nash Grove Baptist Church where he served as deacon for many years. His family includes his wife, Palma Ashburn Denny of Baxter; two sons, William L. Roy B., and Willard L. Denny, both of Baxter; two daughters, Henry E. (Tincy) Denny and Pat Smith, both of Baxter; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Fred Denny; a sister, Minnie Bell Gambrell; two brothers, Sam and Henry Denny; and a great-grandson, Richard Bumbalough. She loved to sew, make quilt tops, do puzzle books and watching soap operas. Survivors include husband of 53 years, Freddie Ray James (whom he married July 20, 1961, in Putnam County) of Silver Point; five daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon James of Algood, Karen and William Clark of Bloomington Springs, Sara Flatt, Sandy Baker both of Cookeville, Reada and Brian Hodgin of Crossville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ray and Marian James of Chestnut Mound, Michael and Pam James of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Sue Cronk of Cookeville; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren, including special great-grandson, Mason Clark, whom she helped raise. In addition to her parents, Mrs. James was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Murray and Doris Fleming; and brothers, Morris Cronk and Horace Cronk. He served as an Elder at Baxter Church of Christ and ministered by visiting the sick and shut-ins. He loved working in his garden.
