Mr. Beasley passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Murfreesboro. He was born Oct. 6, 1958, to Lillian M. Stewart Beasley of Silver Point and the late Charles William Beasley Sr. Mr. Beasley was a 1977 graduate of Upperman High School and a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his mother, his family includes two sisters, Marsha Beasley of Silver Point and Wanda Haynie of Riddleton; two nieces and a nephew, Tiffany Haynie, Felicity Beasley and Jimmy R. Haynie Jr.; a great-niece, Mikaylee Lafever; six aunts and two uncles, Hallie G. Tibbs of Memphis, Thelma Beasley of Smyrna, Irene and Earl Dirkson of Cookeville, O'Geal Carter of Carthage, Etta and Doyle King of Chicago, Ill., and Amy Brown of Detroit, Mich.; and a host of cousins and friends. Mr. Beasley died on Mon., Sept. 6, 1999, at the Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro, following an extended illness. He was born on May 19, 1933, in Silver Point to the late Clarence Veco and Edna T. Bohannon Beasley. Mr. Beasley was retired from the Army Corps of Engineers. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Beasley was a member of the West End Church of Christ in Silver Point. His family includes his wife of 43 years, Lillian Mai Stewart Beasley; a son, Charles William Beasley Jr. of Silver Point; two daughters and a son-in-law, Marsha Beasley of Silver Point, and Wanda and Jimmy Haynie of Riddleton; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Thelma Beasley of Smyrna; a sister and brother-in-law, Hallie G. Beasley and Isom Tibbs of Memphis; a devoted uncle, Robert G. Bohannon of Nashville; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was born June 8, 1935 in Putnam County to the late James Bransford and Cora Isabelle Apple Stewart. Mrs. Beasley was a homemaker and a member of the West End Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Beasley, Sr.; son, Charles William Beasley Jr.; infant daughter, Norma Jean Beasley; brother, Thomas Stewart, and by a sister, Mary Jane Worrdmore. She is survived by two daughters, Marsha Beasley of Silver Point and Wanda Haynie of Riddleton, TN; three grandchildren, Jimmy and wife Milindy Haynie of Goodlettsville, Tiffany Haynie of Riddleton and Felicity Beasley of Silver Point, two great-grandchildren, Mikaylee Lafever and Emerysen Buckhalter; four sisters, Irene and husband Rev. She was born Dec. 8, 1957, in Putnam County to Mrs. Virginia Johnson of Silver Point. Ms. Johnson attended Trinity Baptist Church in Cookeville and served a number of years as a correction officer with the Putnam County Sheriff's Department. Her family includes a son and daughter-in-law, Willie and Tina Maddux of Cookeville; three grandchildren, Solomon, Jasai and Mya Maddux; four sisters and two brothers-inlaw, Linda and Floyd Cartwright of Algood, Kathy Johnson of Silver Point, Patsy and Bob Gist of Cookeville and Judy Bailey of Algood.
