The meet starts at 7 p.m. in the Huntsman Center and Utah s three seniors will be honored in a pre-meet ceremony. Fans will receive a free light-up gift at the door. The meet will be rebroadcast on KUCW on Sunday, Mar. 11 at 11 a.m. QUICK STICKS Utah is leading the nation in gymnastics attendance, averaging 14,338 fans. The Utes could break their all-time NCAA season attendance record of 14,213 (set in 2010) with another big crowd this Friday Ute seniors Cortni Beers, Stephanie McAllister and Kyndal Robarts are competing in their final regular season home meet. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to join in the pre-meet ceremony honoring the senior trio The meet promo is Dance and Cheer night and coupons can be found on UtahUtes.com After a road meet at Florida on Mar. 16, the Utes will host two postseason meets: the inaugural Pac-12 Championships on Mar. 24 and the NCAA Regional Championship on Apr. 7. Gymnasts without a fall are freshmen Tory Wilson (10-10), Kailah Delaney (9-9) and Becky Tutka (8-8). STAR SENIORS Utah s sterling senior class, making its final regular season Huntsman Center appearance this Friday, accounts for almost 40-percent (72-192) of Utah s total routines and nearly half (18-39) of the team s individual victories this season. Cortni Beers, Stephanie McAllister and Kyndal Robarts have a total of just three falls this season (69-72). Two seniors are returning MVPs: Robarts in 2010 and McAllister in McAllister is a three-time All-American, while Robarts has won two All- America awards. UTES IN THE RANKINGS Utah is ranked No. 7 this week with a regional qualifying score (RQS). Utah s best event ranking is on beam where the Utes are ranked No. 6 ( RQS). They are ranked seventh on vault (49.300), ninth on floor (49.160) and 14th on bars (48.985). Utah s best individual rankings are from Kailah Delaney, tied for No. 10 on vault (9.905), and Corrie Lothrop, No. 11 in the all-around (39.325). See page 3 for complete national rankings. LAST WEEK Stephanie McAllister won the all-around and two events to lead Utah past No. 9 Oregon State Utah won every individual title with McAllister capturing floor (9.95) and tying with Georgia Dabritz on bars (9.85), Cortni Beers winning beam (9.9) and Kyndal Robarts winning vault (9.975). Utah began the meet with its best vault score of the season (49.425) and finished strong on floor (49.425), but had problems on bars and beam. A crowd of 13,571 was on hand for Utah s sixth-straight win. SERIES SHORTS (For complete series results, see page 4) Utah leads the overall series with Nebraska , including an 18-1 record in Salt Lake City Utah won a dual meet at Nebraska last season but the Huskers beat the Utes on both days of the NCAA Championships The Huskers sole win in Salt Lake City was during the 1999 NCAA Championships. GREG MARSDEN SAYS We have another top 10 opponent coming in this week in Nebraska and we need to relax and compete the way we are practicing. Senior night is always emotional, but rather than increasing the pressure, it s a time for the seniors to go out and have fun with their teammates and the crowd. Our seniors (Cortni Beers, Stephanie McAllister and Kyndal Robarts) have all enjoyed great careers here, and even though it s their final regular season home meet, they still have a lot of gymnastics ahead of them this season. FAN-TASTIC ATTENDANCE The Utes are averaging 14,338 fans to their home meets this season with one sellout in the 15,000-seat Huntsman Center (15,310 vs. BYU on Jan. 27). It was the fourth-biggest crowd ever to attend a gymnastics meet in the Huntsman Center and Utah s 10th 15,000- plus crowd ever. Utah gymnastics was the NCAA women s attendance leader for all sports in 2010 and One of the best attended women s sports in history, the program has averaged over 11,000 fans a meet at home for the past 21 years. Utah owns every gymnastics attendance record and has won 27 of the last 30 gymnastics attendance titles, including the last seven. Utah averaged 13,503 fans to its home meets in 2011 to finish ahead of Tennessee women s basketball (13,078). In 2010, the Utes also beat out Tennessee basketball for the title, averaging an NCAA gymnastics-record 14,213 fans in the Huntsman Center to become the first team other than basketball ever to win a women s collegiate season attendance title. The largest crowd (15,558) ever to watch a college gymnastics meet attended the Utah-Florida meet on Mar. 4, For more on Utah s attendance records, see page 9. Stephanie McAllister, Sr. Three-time All-American was Utah s 2011 MVP school record holder for most consecutive routines without a fall (72 from ) ranks in the top 25 in the all-around (20th, RQS) and on bars (25th, RQS) tied for the team lead with 10 wins this season and has a team-best 24 career victories has hit routines this season and career routines. Kyndal Robarts, Sr. Two-time first-team All-American and Utah s 2010 MVP was granted an additional year of eligibility by the NCAA after missing all but the first two meets of 2011 with a knee injury ranked 21st in the nation on beam (9.850 RQS) and 25th on vault (9.880) won Pac-12 Special Performance of the Week on Feb. 28 for her two wins, including a career-high on vault, against Stanford on Feb wins this season and 19 career victories has hit routines this season and career routines. 5 2012 UTAH GYMNASTICS NOTES Kailah Delaney, Fr J.O. vault champion placed third on vault and beam and fifth in the all-around at the 2011 J.O. Championships ranked 10th in the nation on vault this week ( season average) season-best 9.95 on vault vs. BYU on Jan. 27 missed the Stanford with a sore Achilles 3 wins this season and in her career has hit 9-9 routines this season and in her career. Kassandra Lopez, Fr. Placed third on beam, fourth on floor and 10th in the all-around at the 2011 J.O. Championships starter on bars and beam also vaulted against Stanford has hit routines this season and in her career. Becky Tutka, Fr. Qualified international elite in 2006 placed second on beam and fourth in the all-around at the 2010 J.O. Championships outstanding on floor, she has moved down to the fourth spot in the lineup after leading Utah off in the first six meets season-high 9.90 twice has hit 8-8 routines this season and in her career. Tory Wilson, Fr. Placed fourth in the all-around, fourth on vault and fifth on floor at the 2011 J.O. Championships has made the vault lineup in every meet and the floor lineup twice opens her floor routine with a double layout has hit routines this season and in her career. UTAH S CONFERENCE HISTORY First-year Pac-12 member Utah has been an independent in gymnastics for most of its history. However, Utah did compete in two conferences for a total of eight years: the High Country Athletic Conference ( ) and the Western Athletic Conference ( ). Utah won all eight conference championships and hosted the 1986 and 1990 HCAC Championships. Pac-12 teams have made more NCAA appearances (125), won more NCAA team (15) and individual (75) championships and earned more All- America honors (869) than any other conference. Utah is tied for the most national team championships with 10 (nine NCAA), while UCLA has six NCAA titles. Utah is the only program to qualify for all 30 NCAA Championships and the last 36 national championships (six AIAW appearances). Utah is the only team to qualify for the Super Six every year since 2000 and is tied for the most total Super Six appearances (17) with Georgia and Alabama.
