November 1 & 2 we celebrate two important liturgies. All Saints is a Holy Day of Obligation, which means you treat it like a Sunday and make it a priority to attend the Mass. We celebrate saint feast days throughout the year, but with All Saints Mass we celebrate the great witnesses of the Catholic faith collectively for their example and inspiration. The saints are our heavenly intercessors that take our prayers to God with great haste and zeal. We need their help to face the challenges of the world. Therefore, they deserve our honor and you can honor them well by attending one of the three Masses that will be available: Wednesday October 31 Vigil St. Joseph-6:30 p.m. Thursday November Sacred Heart (Both Schools will attend)- 8:30 a.m. Thursday November St. Joseph- 6:30 p.m. All Souls day follows the next day. We remember all the faithful departed and pray that their souls will be freed from purgatory, so they can enter the kingdom of heaven. Every time we celebrate Mass souls can be freed from purgatory. There will be only one Mass for All Souls Day and that will be at the St. Joseph School Mass on Friday November 2 at 8:30 a.m. This Mass will be followed by First Friday Adoration which ends at Noon. We will continue to honor our faithful departed before the Sunday Masses next weekend. 8:30 a.m. Sacred Heart 10:30 a.m. St. Joseph May we all strive to become saints so that our souls can have eternal rest in heaven. Congratulations to the following young adults from St. Joseph Parish who received the Sacrament of Confirmation by Bishop Daniel Thomas at Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish this past Tuesday, October 23rd: Marissa Black, Peyton Dzugan, Cody Griffin, Isabella Jeffrey, Mallory Plesac, Haylee Riedel, Trevor Shade and Kennedi Sipes. It is our hope and prayer that they may be filled with the love of Christ and the Holy Spirit as they continue on their spiritual journey.

3 3 HOLY HOUR HONORING VETERANS AND OUR COUNTRY: We will have our annual Holy Hour for Veterans on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7 at 7:00 P.M. AT SACRED HEART OF JESUS PARISH. Let us honor those men and women who have served our country and praise our Lord for His protection and mercy. Veterans and the Eucharist make us thankful for sacrifice and dedication. Please be a part of a wonderful evening of honor and worship. CATHOLIC WOMENS CLUB: The next luncheon will be Wednesday, November 14, Luncheon will be at Brown Derby in Ontario at 12 noon. All members of the St. Juan Diego Deanery are invited. If you are new, we encourage you to join us an get to know the Catholic women in the area. CRAWFORD COUNTY RIGHT TO LIFE AD: Crawford County Right to Life is once again sponsoring a pro-life ad to appear in four local newspapers the week of January 14, The ads coincide with the anniversary date of the Supreme Courts Roe vs. Wade decision (Jan. 22, 1973). It will be 46 years that abortion on demand, throughout all nine months of pregnancy has been the law of the land. Over 60 million plus unborn children have been killed in the U.S. alone. Volunteers will be accepting donations after both Masses on Sunday, November 11th. Suggested donation is $5.00.
