1 On Your Mark. Get Set. Grow. Growth Groups 2015 At the beginning of 2015, Pastor Hunter announced the creation of growth groups to meet during the months of May and June. These groups are due to start soon! In order to facilitate a smooth transition to our growth group ministry, here are few details regarding this ministry! 1) Every member and many of the friends of FBC have been assigned a Growth Group. There is a binder on the welcome desk dedicated to the ministry of Growth Groups. Or, you can visit the website and follow the links to the details. If we missed your name we re sorry! Let us know and we ll assign you to a group! 2) The only criteria for being in a group is that you were located in that area. Groups have been arranged by region. So, if you live east, you should be placed in an east group. If you live west, you will be in one of the west groups. If you are in a group that is not really in your area, let Pastor Hunter know and he can put you in the group in your neighborhood! 3) Each group has a Facilitator, who will lead the discussion each week through the material that must be read the previous week. We will be covering a book called Mindscape. The book is an exposition of Philippians 4:6-8 and is designed to help us worry less (after all, we all worry). It will be available next week in the bookstore for a very low price. If you do not read the book, the Growth Group will be of limited value to you. You need to read the book! 4) Each group has a Host. You will meet in their home. If you do not know where a particular home is located just speak to the host and they can tell you. 5) Each group begins on Wednesday, May 6 th at 7:00pm. Your growth groups will be free to set a new time to meet after your group begins meeting, but unless your Facilitator tells you otherwise, your group meets during the Prayer Meeting time slot (Wednesday, 7:00pm). Your last group meeting will be Wednesday, June 26. 6) Almost every group has a Care Coordinator who will be contacting different people each week about bringing a small snack (if your group decides to have a snack) as well as keeping in touch with who are sick and needing care! 7) Not everyone is a fan of Growth Group ministry. We get that. For those of you who simply do not feel that you can be a part of the Growth Group that meets in your neighborhood, there will be a group that will meet at the church. That group will meet on Wednesday night at 7:00pm during our regular prayer meeting time. However, it will follow a Growth Group format, and will cover the same material that the regional Growth Groups are covering. Some people from the West Side have already been assigned to the church

2 Growth Group to ensure that someone shows up for it (see the binder to see if you have been assigned to the church group)! 8) Since we will not be able to collect our regular missions offering during May/June, we would encourage you to designate your missions giving and put it in the offering plate on Sunday. Our missionaries shouldn t have to suffer because we are doing Growth Groups! Growth Groups are centered around discussion and interaction on the book and a time of prayer.
