1 NOV. 8, 2016 RICHLAND HILLS CHRISTIAN CHURCH THE CHURCH VISITOR F Y I Without Focus Our Purpose is Limited It really is that simple! Without focus, our purpose is limited and so is our impact for Christ. That s why you hear me talk about our purpose several times a year. It s the same reason we purchased books about what it means to be a church member. We think we know that, but the question is: are we living it out? That change must occur for us to go forward. We must move away from thinking about something to doing something about what we are thinking. Our call is to be lights in the darkness and help the least of our brethren. That doesn t happen without action on our part. This congregation can accomplish far more than we imagine if we just place our faith and trust in God and be obedient to His commands. If we study God s Word, our faith will grow. If we pray, we will hear His voice. If we hear and follow God s voice, we will discover the life God intended in unexpected places with unplanned destinations. Security Improvements at RHCC Recently, at the request of the Guiding Board, a security survey was completed by the Richland Hills Police Department. The intent was to help make our campus safer for everyone. As we look to utilize this information for the betterment of our congregation, you may see things change as w e i m p l e m e n t s o m e o f t h e recommendations we have been given. If you have an interest in helping this process move along smoothly and efficiently, please contact one of the leadership team members to find out where you can lend a hand. Together WE make this place better and safer. Richland Hills Christian Church 3908 Ruth Road Richland Hills, TX (817) Senior Pastor: Paul Klaus Website: info.rhcc@gmail.com

Kevin & Jill Sutherland and Family joined our church on Sunday, November 6. CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS We want to thank the night group for cutting out the stockings. Also a special thanks to all who decorated the stockings so beautifully. The stockings will be filled on Tuesday, November 15th. They will be on display in the Gathering Area on Sunday, November 20th. Then they will be boxed and delivered to the Salvation Army. Quote: PARTNERS IN PRAYER by John Maxwell God s hand moves when people and pastors pray together. Through prayer, God makes the impossible, possible. Through prayer, God greatly multiplies our efforts. C. H. Spurgeon said, Whenever God determines to do a great work, He first sets His people to prayer. Quote: GOD S POWER to CHANGE YOUR LIFE by Rick Warren The first tool God uses in changing us is the Bible. Through Scripture he teaches us how to live. Second Timothy 3:16-17 tells us, The whole Bible was given to us by inspiration from God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives; it straightens us out and helps us do what is right. It is God s Way of making us well prepared at every point (LB). Thanks to ALL who helped in any way to make this project a success.

The Advent Season Is it too early to be thinking about Christmas or Christmas Eve? Of course not, Halloween has passed and, I m sure, our plans for the season of Advent have begun. I am asking you to start planning how you will make church a bigger part of your life during this Advent season. This year is unique because Christmas falls on a Sunday. That means Christmas Eve falls on Saturday night. We will be having our regular Christmas Eve Service at 7:00pm on the 24th of December, and then there will be a Christmas morning service at 10:30am. Both will be family friendly celebrations. Start making your plans now, and invite family, friends and coworkers to join us as we celebrate Christ s coming!
