The Officer Approved document is posted in this Newsletter for your review. In accordance with our regulations, after a period of 30 days from the date of posting, (at the August Council Meeting) the Council members will be asked to vote their approval. 2 Grand Knight Message (continued) Our Council will again be participating in the Anaheim 4 th of July Celebration at Peralta Park. After the parade, stop by our Council s booth for a delicious hamburger, hot dog or sausage dog. Bring your family and enjoy the fun and amazing fire works. Our next Council meeting will be on July 5 th at 6:00 PM. Our dinner will be our annual BBQ! Yummmm! Don t forget to sign up for the Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration which will be held on Sunday, August 5 th at the LA Memorial Coliseum. The event will include several great speakers, music and powerful prayer. Archbishop Jose Gomez recently stated, At certain times the Church gathers together for an event that provides the opportunity for the expression of faith in a very public way. This historic event will send a very important message at a very important time in our history. Please plan to attend. Our new Chaplain Father Joe will soon be off to Alaska again. He will be using his vacation time to help the local Bishop minister to the poor in remote villages. Please pray that Father Joe s hardships are minimal and that he returns to us safe and sound. 3 Brothers: POLO SHIRTS We at council #9195 are preparing to make the next purchase of Polo shirts for our council. We purchase a very good quality shirt and have our own insignia embroidered on it. If you are interested in adding to our purchase, please let Brother Bob DePaola know as soon as possible at or him at bobaree@sbcglobal.net The Polo shirts we will be ordering are the Style: Gildan Ultra Blend Sport Shirt w/pocket. 50% preshrunk cotton, 50% polyester, 5.6 oz., welt knit collar and cuffs, clean-finished three-button placket, woodtone buttons, left-chest pocket. To get the best price we can mix sizes and colors for dozen or case pricing. All Polo shirts are adult sizes: M-L-XL-XXL-XXXL. The primary colors we are currently planning to purchase are White, Forest (Green), Navy (Dark Blue) and Maroon. We can also get adult size: XXXL however that shirt will be a Stedman by Hanes 5.5oz 50/50 Jersey Knit Sport Shirt with a fashionable Pocket. Allen Solly placket with pearl buttons, welt collar and rib-knit cuffs, this size is only available in White, Ash, Navy & Black As always you save when you buy from your council. 4 Brother Knights, Sunshine Report Pope s Prayer Intention Please keep the following Knights and their families in your thoughts and prayers, you might call and wish them the best in their recovery or maybe send a card. Remember, some of these situations just tear at your heart and theirs. Also, if anyone can help in the pickup of Brother Knights to take them for medical treatment, take them to church, or bring them to our council meetings, please or call me. Brother Ron Grishaber is contending with several medical problems. He needs our continual prayers. Please pray for Deacon Doug's Mother Lillian, she is in her 90's and recently fell and broke her hip. She is in Placentia Linda Hospital. The Knights have sent flowers and a healing card to her. Brother Richard Bianchino says his wife, Brenda is doing great after her last cancer surgery. She went back to work fulltime. She still gets tired easily, but she's doing great. Brother Gary Murray who was hospitalized following a stroke is now home. His left arm and hand is severely affected and his left leg is weak. He has started various forms of therapy and does some walking, but as usual he is in good humor. Knights of Columbus members and other friends stayed various times with Gary while his wife was at work. She is home now and Gary really thanks everyone for volunteering some of their time to be with him, some even taking him to therapy. The Pope s general intention is: "Work Security. That everyone may have work in safe and secure conditions." Missionary Intention: "Christian Volunteers. That Christian volunteers in mission territories may witness to the love of Christ." Pray for Gwen, the wife of Brother Don Davis, who went into the hospital on May 23rd for a very serious spinal neck operation. She is 81 years old and needs our prayers. Brother Don says, It has been a month since the surgery and progress has been both painful and slow but the healing is taking place. GWEN HAS LOST PARTIAL USE OF HER RIGHT ARM but the Dr. feels therapy will probably correct that. We both thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Pray for a full recovery and a return to normalcy. Brother Frank Collard says, Please add my sister Darby Nea to our prayer list. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and just went in for chemo therapy. I was going to Phoenix for my 50th reunion 4

5 in June and will see her while we are there. Sunshine Report (cont) Brother Bob Fiorentino asks. Would you please put Brother Sam Marchese [3rd degree Council 9195] on the prayer list? He has had on ongoing battle with lung cancer for more than four years and in recent weeks has been in and out of St. Jude Hospital. (Sam is home now.) He is there now fighting bleeding ulcers and an unknown infection. He is now in isolation until they figure out what is causing the infection. Sam is my father-in law; is low key, and not generally interested in attention. The Knights have sent him flowers and a healing card. From Brother Bert Millspaugh: Please pray for the mother of my doctor, Dr. Does, a Catholic, who is hospitalized. Please keep 10-year old Dean Hirsch, son of Bert Millspaugh's niece in your prayers. He has some lesions on his pancreas that is causing pain and discomfort. He has been diagnosed with Lymphoma and is in CHOC for chemotherapy. Brother Tony DePaola reported on the health of his family. He says, His brother Sal s wife, Bernetta is through her first round of chemo, she feels better now. Chemo was very, very hard on her. Brotherin-law GK Doug had a major operation on his esophagus and stomach and is now on the mend. Prayers have been essential, thanks to all. Brother Jim Dawson is continuing on dialysis three times a week now as his kidneys have failed again. But otherwise he says he feels strong and is doing well. He was able to sit with Brother Gary Murray as a volunteer for a few hours. Brother Jack Abajian says, My sister is a little better but not 100% would appreciate if everyone continue their Prayers. Mom and Dad getting a little better but again please continue everyone's Prayers. My Aunt who has leukemia is not doing so well and getting worse. Everyone Prayers are greatly Appreciated and May God Bless everyone that whom are sick and in need of our Prayers. Brother Steve Zegler who recovered from esophagus cancer still needs our prayers. Brother Neil Jouvenant is recovering from a very serious hip surgery involving his spine and leg. His back, hips, and left arm are affected. He has difficulty getting around, but is in good spirits and thanks the Knights for the prayers. He hopes to be walking soon and coming to a meeting. Members of K of C Council 9195 are the Heart and Soul of the Fiesta! The Fiesta team relies heavily on the volunteers from our council year in and year out and this year, the 35th Anniversary of the Fiesta, is no exception! Father Joe and all of the Church ministries rely heavily on this fundraiser, allowing them to operate their critical work in Christ.
