3 From Ken. Ken s Korner Betsy and I want to take a moment to say how thankful we are to be part - Ken Reid, Pastor of the College Street Baptist family. You have made our lives full and complete as a church family that truly loves one another. We wish you a bountiful Thanksgiving season! I believe that the Lord did a wonderful thing in our lives during the Renewal Weekend. That spirit has continued to touch our lives and is leading us into the wonderful Christmas season. Please join us for all the events that we plan to celebrate Christ s birth. See this newsletter and the weekly bulletin for updates. Of all the worship experiences that we will celebrate, I want to bring to your attention two of them. First is the Storybook Christmas message on December 18. We have planned a special service for that day that is designed to minister directly to our children that we love so dearly. Betsy and I along with all our staff look forward to this very special morning together. Second, is the annual Candlelight Lord s Supper on Wednesday, December 21 at 6:30 p.m. This has become a very special tradition but in no way, has it become routine. It s a night of reflection, repentance, acceptance, renewal and remembering. God has done for us more than we could ever do in return for Him. Jesus showed us how to remember Him and then He said, Do this in remembrance of me. Come join us as we remember and observe. CHRISTMAS CARD POST OFFICE FOR LOTTIE MOOON Christmas Card Post Office for Lottie Moon! Two great events are just around the corner. Our annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for world missions is set for the week of December Our annual goal is $6, Our Ingathering for our gifts is set for Sunday, December 11 during our morning worship service. Begin praying about your gift now. In the mean time, we will be setting up the Christmas Card Post Office again this year. You can bring your in-house Christmas Cards to the Post Office beginning on Sunday, November 27 th. Please remember that we don t deliver and your cards should be for those who regularly attend or who are among our shut-in or nursing home families. We recommend that you donate a minimum of 25 cents per card toward the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for each card you place in the mail boxes. Our youth will be assigned the task of delivering these to you before and after the worship services, but you can also check the boxes for yourself. There is a box below the Post Office to put your cash or checks for Lottie Moon. May this be a festive and happy season of remembering the birth of our Savior! 4 THANK YOU NOTES Hello College Street, Hope all is well there. We are slowly getting to know the area here and will close on our new home on October 31st. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to seek God s perfect will for the remainder of our earthly lives. Dear Friends and Church Family, Love to all, David & Barbara Cantrell Rocky Mountain Drive Edmond, OK Well, Judson is home and doing well considering his limitations. We want to let you, our Church family and friends, know how very much we appreciate all you have done for us. Your thoughts, concern, calls, visits, food, monetary gifts and most of all your prayers are very much appreciated. Had it not been for your prayers being lifted up, we would have had a more trying time. Preacher Ken's help, love, visits and words of encouragement meant so much to us. Again, thank you. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we have a long road to travel toward complete recovery. God bless each of you. Dear College Street Baptist Church, Peggy and Judson Fleming The family of Bobby Gravley acknowledges with grateful appreciation your kind expression of sympathy. Thank you for your generous gift in memory of Bobby to Fairview Baptist Church. Dear College Street Baptist Church, In Christian Love, Judy Gravley (Sister-in-law of Billy & Margene Gravley) Warmly, sincerely and gratefully, too, this message is coming today. And along with a thank-you, it s bringing a wish that life s happiest things come your way. Thank you so much for the use of your facility for our 62nd Class Reunion. A special thanks to Mrs. Mildred Byars and Ms. Peggy McCall. Dear College Street Friends, From The High School Class of 1954, Rev. Olen Hightower Remembering your kindness, how you give out of love, your generosity astounds me, I thank God from above. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. We would like for you to consider donating these items to CSBC. During the Security Plan discussions, security cameras on our buses were brought discussed. As you may know, cameras for this type of coverage can get expensive. To save some money, we want to try and mount a smartphone with camera to each of our buses and have them setup to simply record the trip. Since many of our bus trips with children only have one adult on the bus, we feel it necessary to provide an additional set of eyes for the bus driver. As for the ipads, these devices will be utilized in the children and youths classroom programs. If you are interested, please include any related items that you may have for the devices. We will need power cables, mounts (example: car mounts), and protective covers. If there are any security codes or personal data, please remove. When you are ready to donate your device (s), please place them in a bag and either give them to a deacon or deliver it to the church office. Please include your complete name and contact information. If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call upon me. Joseph A.
