A FARMERS PRAYER by JM Kenyon Make sunrise early and the sunset wait; make summer early and the winter late! Allow the crops to sprout and thrive and give me hope to man the drive. Please let the raindrops fall at night and keep the ground firm in daylight. Make all my callouses a bit more tough when times are hard and life gets rough. But most of all... Please keep my spirit in your palm my will intact, my body strong, my family close, my faith untaxed, my heartbeats tight, my laughs relaxed! 8 Letter from Rev. Nathanael Being a Christian Tabelisma Like Being a Pumpkin Hello, friends and UMC family! As we start the Fall this year, let me ask you, how did your summer with your loved ones, family, friends and your relatives go? I hope you did not miss having vacation, seeing the gift of Gods beautiful creation whether in our town, the state, the country or even outside of the country. Creating wonderful memories with friends and love ones. For Reby and myself, this Summer was a time for transition into a new appointment, new congregations, a new house and started building new relationships. While it may be challenging, we found comfort in this change because through God s goodness and grace. All in all, the change has been indeed very good. I will admit we miss our family from Middle East (Dubai) and sometimes Riva who is in Minnesota. But despite of this, we have enjoyed our new life being with you all here in West Bend, Mallard and other parts of the Palo Alto County, plus our other families in different parts of Iowa and of the US. While it is not the ideal situation that I wanted, I never regretted the opportunity and privilege that the good Lord gave us to be part of this community and find some friends and you consider us as your family with God. So, that was our Summer and now, that Fall is here, it would be good time to celebrate the cooler weather of Northwest part of Iowa. As I end this writing, let me share with you some things to ponder: Six Things Mentally Strong People Do They move on. They don t waste time feeling sorry for themselves. They embrace change. They welcome challenges. They stay happy. They don t waste energy on things they can t control. They are kind, fair and unafraid to speak up. They are willing to take calculated risk. They celebrate another people s success. They don t resent thy success. I hope that as the season changed, we will have renewed feeling of being good and happy to be engaging being members of the Body of Christ. Shalom, Rev. Nathan Tabelisma
