For driving directions, visit henricounion.com and click on the location link on the left. If you need a ride, please contact any officer. The Lodge room is located upstairs (above the U.S. Post Office). The entrance is located on the Confederate Avenue side of the building. A chair lift is available for those who need assistance with the stairs. Parking is available along the street and in the Sandston Baptist Church parking lot adjacent to the building. 3 FROM THE EAST Brethren, I hope you are all doing well after the recent storms that impacted our area. If you find yourself in need of help cleaning up or getting things back in order please let a Brother know and we will see that we get you some assistance. The busy days of summer are upon us and I'm sure we are all ready for some fun in the sun and family vacations. Our July Stated will be a Joint Communication with Sandston Lodge and we have another substitution from our previously planned dinner menu. The Lodges will purchase meat and cheese trays and we are asking each member to bring a dish for a potluck dinner. We will provide the bread and beverages so be sure and whip up your favorite summertime dish or secret family recipe to share with all at our July Joint Communication with Sandston Lodge. Our annual trip to the mountains is coming up for our Officers Retreat and float down the river. Looks like the river being low won't be a challenge this year. We will make our final list at our July Stated so be sure and attend to get the latest information and plans. We will also be making the final preparations for our chartered fishing voyage that I am really excited to attend this year. I hope we get a chance to catch a few good fish but most of all we will have some great fellowship and make some great memories. A date in October has been set to make sausage again this fall for a fundraiser. We will discuss if the Lodge would like to participate in that or pass until next time. Another great reason to attend the July Stated, if you have any input on the sausage or fundraising in general. I hope to see each of you at our July meeting, and it will be a great chance to see some Brethren from Sandston while only attending one meeting. Bring a friend for dinner, and your dinner is on us if July is your Masonic Birthday. August will be Senior Warden s Night so be sure and put that on your calendars now. Scott Lucchesi Worshipful Master IMPORTANT LODGE INFORMATION Henrico Union Lodge holds its regular stated communication on the first Tuesday of each month at the Masonic Temple located at 40 West Williamsburg Road, in Sandston, Virginia. Dinner is served at 6:30 PM, and Lodge opens at 7:30 PM. Report all changes of address, telephone number, , etc. to the Lodge secretary ASAP, and report all cases of illness or distress to the Junior Warden or any Lodge officer. The Henry C. Durbin Memorial Masonic Class meets each Thursday at the Lodge, unless other events are scheduled at the Lodge. The class meets jointly at 7:00 pm with Sandston Lodge s Charles J. Fleming Memorial Class. Please contact the Lodge Instructor of Work or Secretary for more information. The Masters & Wardens Association meetings are held on the fourth Saturday of each month (except June, July, August and December). The meetings are held at the Westhampton Masonic Temple, located at 9290 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, VA. Breakfast is at 8:00 am; the meeting is at 9:00 am. 6 OFFICERS RETREAT July 14-16, 2016 July 14 Officers are asked to arrive in Millboro, VA to visit Millboro Lodge No. 28. A hearty dinner will be served at 6:30, and Lodge will open at 7:30. Officers of Henrico Union Lodge will assume the stations in Millboro Lodge. July 13 Early Friday morning, attendees will be paddling canoes down a tranquil section of the Cowpasture River stopping only to wet a fishing line or eat lunch. When the boats have been packed up, the paddlers will return to another hearty dinner. July 14 When the attendees have had all the fun they can handle, they will return to Richmond on Saturday.
