6 Dear Church Family, When Becky and I first visited First Church in the summer of 1995, the thing that drew us in was the warm, friendly, loving way the congregation treated each other and us. It was what made us choose to become members and we have always loved going to church here and being with all of you. During Becky's illness and untimely passing, the members of the church once again showed us what it means to be God's instruments of love here on Earth. We cannot tell you how much all the cards, prayers, thoughts of encouragement and hope, food, and donations mean to us. The outpouring of love was amazing and for that we will be forever grateful. To say "Thank You" seems so small compared to the overabundance of love and support you provided. We were truly humbled by everything, large and small, that was done for us during this time. From both of us, because I know she would approve, we say a profound "Thank You" to our wonderful church family! Tim Lyda Festival of Tables United Methodist Women will host the fourth annual Festival of Tables ladies luncheon on Saturday May 20, Tables can be reserved for $5.00 and decorated in your chosen theme, using your tableware and decorations. Guest tickets are $8.00 each. Last year one hundred women attended to preview the decorated tables and enjoy a delicious lunch. To reserve a table or for further information contact Linda Abernathy ( ) or Grace White ( ) Hope you will join us!
