3 First English Lutheran Church - ELCA November E. Hughes, Tyler, MN PO Box 156 fenglishtyler@gmail.com Give thanks with a grateful heart Give thanks to the Holy One Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son Give thanks with a grateful heart Give thanks to the Holy One Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son And now let the weak say, "I am strong" Let the poor say, "I am rich Because of what the Lord has done for us" And now let the weak say, "I am strong" Let the poor say, "I am rich Because of what the Lord has done for us" ~ Give Thanks by Don Moen Greetings First English, I love the lyrics of the song above often sung as an offertory. We have a lot to be thankful for at First English. We have a wonderful community to worship with, to learn and grow deeper in our spiritual lives, and to accompany one another in life. We have a lot of energy from our youth as seen through Sunday School, Confirmation, Youth Group, and attendance at upcoming Youth Gatherings. God has blessed us immensely at First English! I feel especially grateful to have been called to be your pastor at First English. I am so thankful to be allowed into the holy moments and the mundane moments of your lives, to share in the joys and the sorrows of life. An attitude of gratitude can change our perspectives on life and our problems. Even on the worst days, just thinking about five things you are grateful for, will shift your perspective and lighten your mood. So what are you thankful for? Write it down. Keep a gratitude journal. Blessings, Pastor Lisa pastorlisaanne@gmail.com
