The first day of spring was the 20th of March and on the morning of the 21st we had a snow storm. Meteorologists predictions said there would be at least 12 inches of snow. But, just remember, it s Spring, lets look forward to the trees getting their leaves, the flowers poking out of the ground and the days when we can sit outside and enjoy the weather. The end of March, the 30th was Good Friday and the eve of Passover. April 1 is Easter and the second day of Passover, which lasts 8 days. The eight-day festival of Passover is celebrated in the early spring, from the 15th through the 22nd of the Hebrew month of Nissan. It commemorates the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt. It is observed by avoiding leaven and highlighted by the Seder meals that include four cups of wine, eating matzah and bitter herbs, and retelling the story of the Exodus. The Residents Association has quarterly meetings to celebrate birthdays in each quarter. Carvel ice cream cake and entertainment round out this celebration. So, join today, you re not obligated to go to every meeting, but maybe you will want to! See Lavina Walker or Rose Robinson for any questions you might have.

3 Page 3 On March 20th, the Residents Association celebrated the first quarter birthdays, Happy Birthday January, February, and March babies! Christine DeLeon, Singer, Songwriter, Performer, Music Instructor-Workshop Leader was hired, and she was great! We all had a wonderful time, her voice was superb and we even sang along. She has many songs in her collection and different themes like a Hawaiian theme, that sounds like fun, we ll have to have her back again! Anyone that didn t come to the party missed out on a lot of fun! Try to make it next time!!

4 Page 4 I d like to remind everyone about Life Long Learning on the first Monday of every month. It s a program brought to you by the Joint Chaplaincy Committee of Greater MetroWest. Chaplains, Rabbis, Cantors and other religious teachers visit with us to talk about various aspects of Judaism. They talk about the bible, some sing and play an instrument. We recently had a young Rabbi who played her guitar and sang Hebrew and Jewish songs. They talk about holidays and celebrate them with stories from the bible and they might even have a favorite song about a certain holiday. This program is very interesting and delightful, mark your calendars for the first Monday of every month at 11:30. Recap of January, February, and March in pictures. The winter was a fairly calm one, even the few times that we had snow didn t keep us from getting to work. I hope that spring and summer will be comfortable!, and I can t wait to see the green leaves on the trees and the flowers springing up from the ground. March and April are holiday months starting with Good Friday and the Eve of Passover on March 30th. Passover lasts 8 days ending on April 6th, the office will be closed in observance. There will not be a Life Long Learning program in April due to Passover week, the next LLL program is on Monday, May 7th. I wish all of you a Happy Passover and Easter! My door is always open! Bryna
