2 Activity Highlights-What s Happening This Week? Phoenix Zoo Join us for an educational, interactive and fun experience! You will learn about 4-6 live animals that are not seen on exhibit at the Phoenix Zoo. (Tuesday at 11:00AM-Mainstreet) Independence Celebration Let s have root beer floats and listen to Claudia on the piano as a pre-celebration for Independence Day! (Tuesday at 1:00PM- Mainstreet) Taste of Shabbat Celebrate our musical Shabbat with Nurit Avigdor. Nurit is a former Cantor and comes to us with years of experience leading Jewish communities. (Friday at 11:30am-Cinema Room) Opportunities to Honor and Remember When loved ones pass away, they are no longer with us physically, but they are never really gone. Part of the joy in knowing that person is the ability to keep them alive in memory and spirit. JFCS would like to help celebrate their memory with you. For Senior Center participants donating more than $100, the Center provides an opportunity to create a memorial in the individual s name. These names will be placed on a memorial plaque to be displayed within the Center. Participants can also choose to honor someone in recognition of a special occasion. Bob writes a monthly column called Aging Today for the Jewish News of Greater Phoenix, and Lovin Life after 50 newspapers writing publications. Reaching back 12,000 years, Indian inhabitants made their home in what we now call Arizona. Today, Arizona is home to 22 federally recognized American Indian communities. We bring 8 or more animals for this presentation. (Tuesday at 11:00am-Cinema Room) Senior Spelling Bee Calling all Spelling Bee s.get ready to show off your spelling skills to all of your friends. (Tuesday at 1:00PM-Activities Room) Musical Institute Museum Tour Join us for a one-hour guided tour of the galleries which will include Israel and the Middle East. Afterwards, you will be able to explore the museum. Cost of event will be $20 and you will need to pay in advance. Pre-register for the event no later then 7/25 at the Senior Center.
