We thank you for the late hours, the dedication, and the missed classes - Mrs. K s office will never be the same. 4 4 A PRE-PESACH ESACH YOM IYUN was held this past Tuesday. Students were divided into teacher-led groups, where they studied sources that discussed the בחברותא significance of,מצה,ומרור,פסח and presented their learning to the rest of the group. The entire school was privileged to hear from Rabbi Rafi Lipner, who summarized the message of the day. A huge יישר כח goes to Mrs. Shira Lipner, who designed an exceptional program. Thank you to Ayelet Reiter and Shoshsana Rosenblum for their help with running the program. NEED SUMMER PLANS LANS? There are several appropriate and exciting summer programs. This week, MISHMERES discussed the importance of standing up when people are saying the wrong thing, even if no one else does. To illustrate the lesson, they reminded the girls, Don t be a chicken, do the right thing. At that point, Miri Morris joined the school dressed in her often-seen chicken costume and the girls proceeded to the gym for a massive Chicken Dance. Lesson learned. Psychologist LESTER DR. KRAMES spoke to Mrs. Klompus grade 11 Human Growth & Development class this week. Dr. Krames spoke about attachment theory and how it affects self-esteem. 5 5 Tiferes Bais Yaakov is proud of its efforts in maintaining a close with our graduates and we offer many opportunities for our קשר alumnae to gather together and keep their connection to Tiferes strong throughout the year. The PRE-PURIM GAMES NIGHT was lots of fun, though not many games were played Still, it was a great opportunity to catch up and reminisce. Looking forward to the ANNUAL PESACH GET- TOGETHER on Monday, April 9th. All alumnae are invited to join us at 9 pm Fairholme Avenue. Alumnae learning at Darchei Bina and Michlalah traveled to Poland this month to visit בתי מדרש and גדולים of,קברים as well as Holocaust sites such as Auschwitz, and The Warsaw and Krakow Ghettos. 6 6 Tiferes Today is excited to present the second edition of THE LITERARY LOUNGE, which features writing by our very own students. Thank you to Eden Gabay of grade 9 for her contribution. "A Letter Deserves Better" A Ballad by: Eden Gabay The K in Knife was rather perplexed, What relation did she have to her text? She was quite baffled, and somewhat bemused, Call it what you wish, K was confused. Then K became upset, something had to be done! Stolen identities? Now that was not fun! So K did something drastic; it was their final resort, What else could she do? She brought it to court. She asked G in Gnome if he felt the same way, He admitted he did, though was too shy to say, The P in Pneumonia had also confessed, The pressing predicament was not yet addressed. The case was brought to order, Judge J in command, ʺWill the defendants please come up to the stand?ʺ P and H stood, and were fearful indeed, ʺAnd now, young gentlemen, how do you plead?ʺ They decided to complain to the Alphabet Board, P mumbled, H bumbled, as for tact, they had none, Why this difficult dilemma had been ignored, The Board said the matter was out of their hands, It was clear that this case had already been won, The three said in dismay, ʺNo one understands.ʺ Judge J announced, ʺI hope a lesson was learned.ʺ And with a slam of his gavel, court was adjourned. After they left, they sulked and they sighed, As for the three silent letters, they had to agree, What could they do? At least they had tried. That from now on, thatʹs just how it would be, And after their grumbles and groans had Itʹs nobodyʹs fault, itʹs not meant as offense, subsided, Thatʹs English for you; it just doesnʹt make sense. They searched for F, and in him they confided. ʺWe have no purpose!ʺ G said with a sob, ʺWe are just a nuisance! We have no job.ʺ ʺAn outrage! A scandal!ʺ replied F in disgrace, ʺIʹve got a problem as well; Iʹve been replaced!ʺ ʺBut that cannot be!ʺ said P with dread, But F was just frowning, and shaking his head, ʺThose scoundrels, those rascals! They ve taken my place, Those hooligans, those miscreants! That P and that H!ʺ
