Mrs. Fastag, writing under the name Devorah Heshelis, is the author of The Moon s Lost Light, A Torah Perspective on Women from the Fall of Eve to the Full Redemption, a fascinating exploration of the Torah perspective of women s traditional position in Judaism. Mrs. Fastag spoke about women s role in Yiddishkeit, and the seeming inequality between men and women, which is misunderstood by many of us. Starting this term, grade 12 will be studying Mrs. Fastag s book during a voluntary lunch & learn program with Rabbi Feigenbaum. SARAH SCHENIRER, ע ה 75TH YAHRTZEIT We are pleased to announce that Tiferes Bais Yaakov will join thousands of Bais Yaakov girls in New Jersey on March 4th, to commemorate the 75th Yahrtzeit of Sara Schenirer. The girls will hear from prominent Rabbanim, meet new friends, and participate in this celebration of the life of the founder of Bais Yaakov. Permission slips must be submitted by this Tues. The WEEKLY ALUMNI SHIUR, held every Thursday at 8:30, continues to bring together alumni from all הלכות שבת graduating years for an inspirational pre-shabbos talk. Rabbi Mordechai Enakar gave a two-part review. Rabbi Enakar was able to condense two very involved issues into a clear and practical review and we are already looking forward to a future shiur about רפואה on.שבת Mrs. Dvora Sussman gave an inspiring talk, in honour of בשבט,ט ו about the importance of the ביכורים and the everyday lessons we can learn from this mitzvah, about שמחת החיים and appreciating the day to day ניסים in our lives. Winter break brought many ALUMNI VISITORS to the halls of 85 Stormont it was nice to see Adina Cohen ( 07), Sarah Goldwasser ( 07), Michal Jaff ( 07), Avigial Kalfa ( 07), Devorah Libman ( 07), Rivka Magazzinich ( 06), Lisa Sebbag ( 08), and Tanya Zbili ( 07). The ALUMNI TRIVIA NIGHT was enjoyed by all attendees. After a light מלכה,מלוה teams put their brains to work - calculating, thinking, and puzzling their way to the top score. Stay tuned for the answer in our next edition;) RABBI FEIGENBAUM S ISRAEL VISIT was a great success. The Rabbi spent the week visiting seminaries, meeting with former students, and addressing seminary students at Meohr, Pninim, Machon Ra aya and Moreshet. Approximately 30 graduates traveled from near and far to enjoy food, laughs, and words from the Rabbi at the home of Yisroel and Malka (Benmergui 04) Woolfson; some came from as far as Beitar and Kfar Pines. Thanks to everyone who helped organize this special gathering. Before his Israel visit, Rabbi Feigenbaum visited his family in Gateshead and spoke to teachers and students at Gateshead Girls Secondary School. our alumni list is ever-growing and expanding.
