When he was in Leyyah\,لية the Messenger Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam ordered that the fort of Maalek ben 'Awf\ مالك بن عوف be destroyed. Then he went on a road called Al Ddayqah\.الضيقة As he was passing along it, he asked its name: The Hadeeth means: "What is the name of this road?" "ما إسم هذا الطريق "

5 5. When he was told that it was "Al Ddayqah \ الضيقة "/The Strait", he said: "بل هي اليسرى." The Hadeeth means: "No, it is "Al Yusraa\ the /اليسرى easy." Then he went by Nakhb\ نخب till he halted under a lot tree called "Al Saaderah\,"الصادرة near the property of a man of Thaqeef\.ثقيف The Messenger of Allaah - Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam - sent word to him: "إما أن تخرج وإما أن نخرب عليك حائطك." The Hadeeth means: "Either come out or we will destroy your farm." He refused to come out so the Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam ordered his farm to be destroyed.

11 11 The city of Al Taa-ef\ الطائف is located on top of this mountain. This is one of the present day مكة from Makkah Al Mukarramah طريق الهدى Hadaa\ Tareequ Al :الطائف Taa-ef\ highways to Al 2017 /هجري Hejree\ The pictures are from Dr. Abdu Al Rahmaan Xasanwali المكرمة \ Gregorian. Some of his companions were killed by arrows there because the camp had come to close to the wall of Al الطائفTaa-ef and the arrows were reaching them. الطائفTaa-ef The siege of Al The Muslems could not get through their wall for they had fastened the gate. When these men were killed by arrows, the Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam pitched his camp near where his masjed stands today. He, Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam besieged them for some twenty days. The Meseenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam had two of his زينب and Zaynab أم سلمة بنت أبي أمية عليها السالم Umayyah\ wives: Ummu Salamah ben Abee there. There was a pillar in the masjed. Some allege that the sun never rises over it any day but a creacking noise is heard from it. The Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam besieged them and fought them bitterly and the two sides exchanged arrows, until when the day of storming came at the wall of Al الطائفTaa-ef, a number of his companions went under a testudo and advanced up to the wall to breach it. الطائفThaqeef let loose on them scraps of hot iron so they came out from under it and Thaqeef them. shot them with arrows and killed some of ثقيف \

12 12 The Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam ordered that the vineyards of Thaqeef \ ثقيف should be cut down, and the men fell upon them cutting them down. Aboo Sufyaan ben Harb\ أبوسفيان بن حرب and Al Mugheerah ben Shu'bah\ المغيرة بن شعبة went up to Al Taa-ef\ الطائف and called to Thaqeef \ ثقيف to grant them safety so that they could speak to them. When they agreed, they called on the women of Quraysh\ قريش and Banee Kenaanah\ بني كنانة to come out to them for they were afraid that they would be captured, but they refused to come. They were Aamenah bentu Abee Sufyaan\ بنت أبي سفيان,آمنة who was married to 'Urwah ben Mas'ood\ عروة بن مسعود by whom she gave birth to Daawood ben 'Urwah\ بن عروة ;داود and Al Feraaseyah bentu 'Amr ben Tha'labah\ الفراسية بنت عمرو بن ثعلبة whose son was 'Abdu Al Rahmaan ben Qaareb\ الرحمن بن قارب ;عبد and Al Fuqaymeyyatu Umaymah bentu Al Naase-u/intercalator.الفقيمية أميمة بنت النسيء أمية بن قلع \ Qal' Umayyah ben When they refused to come out, ebnu Al Aswad ben Mas'ood\ إبن األسود بن مسعود said to the two men: "Let me tell you of something better than that which you have come about. The vision of the Prophet Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam I have heard that the Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam :الطائف Taa-ef\ while he was besieging Al أبوبكر الصديق رضي هللا تعالى عنه Bakr\ said to Aboo "يا أبا بكر إني رأيت أني أهديت لي قعبة مملوءة زبدا. فنقرها ديك فهرق ما فيها." The Hadeeth means: "I saw (in a dream) that I was given a bowl of butter and a cock pecked at it and spilt it." Aboo أبوبكرBakr said: "I don't think that you will attain your desire from them today."

13 13 The Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu 'Alayhe Wa 'Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam said: The Hadeeth means: "وأنا ال أرى ذلك." "I do not think so either." Ammaa maa kaana lee wa le Banee Abdu Al Muttaleb fu huwa lakum, wa ethaa maa anaa sallaytu al thuhra be al nnaase, fa qoomoo fa qooloo: Ennaa nastashfe u be Rasoole Allaahe elaa al Muslemeena, wa be Al Muslemeena elaa Rasoole Allaahe Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Sallam fee abnaa-enaa wa nesaa-enaa, fa sa u teekum enda thaaleka, wa as-alu lakum. The Hadeeth means: So far as concerns what I and the Banoo Abdu Al Muttaleb\ بنو عبد المطلب have they are yours. Abbaas ben Merdaas \ عباس بن مرداس said: You have removed the power from me. The Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam said: He who holds to his right of these captives he should do so now in exchange of six camels that I will give to him from the first booty that I will acquire for every captive he returns. When I had finished I came out of the Masjed and saw the men running about and I said: What happened? They said: The Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam returned to us our women and our children. I said: Your daughter is with Banee Jumah \ بني جمح : go to them and get her. They went there and got her. The share of Uyaynah ben عيينة بن حصنHesn of the captives was an old women of the elderly women of هوازنHawaazen and said as he took her: I see that she is a person of standing in the tribe and her ransom may well be high.

74 74 When the Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam returned the captives at a price of six camels each, he refused to give her back. When this message was delivered to مالكMaalek he came out of Al الطائفTaa-ef and went to the Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam. مالكMaalek was afraid for his life if Thaqeef \ ثقيف was to know about this message and they might imprison him. So he ordered that his camel should be got ready for him and that a horse.الطائفtaa-ef should be brought to him in Al He came out by night, mounted his horse and rode hard untill he got to the place where his camel was tied to and rode off to join the Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa.مكة المكرمة Mukarramah\ or Makkah Al الجعرانةJe raanah Aalehe Wa Sallam in Al

75 75 The Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam returned to him his women, his children and his properties and gave him one hundred heads of camels. He became a Muslem and a good one by that. Fa wa Allaahe an law kaana lakum be adade shajare Tehaamah na aman la qasamtuhu alaykum, thumma maa alfaytumoonee bakheelan wa laa jabaanan wa laa kath-thaaban."

76 76 The Hadeeth means: O men! Give me back my upper cloth, for by وهللاAllaah if you had as many sheep and goats as the trees of (The region of) Tehaamah \ تهامة I would distribute them among you; you have not found me niggardly or cowardly or a liar. Then Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam went to a camel and took some hair from its hump and held them aloft in his fingers and said: " أيها الناس وهللا ما لي من فيئكم وال هذه الوبرة إال الخمس والخمس مردود عليكم. فأدوا الخياط والمخيط فإن الغلول يكون على أهله عار ونار وشنار يوم القيامة." "Ayyuhaa al nnaasu, wa Allaahe maa lee men fayekum wa laa haathehe al wabarata ellaa al khumusa, wa al khumusu mardoodun alaykum. Fa addoo al kheyaata wa al mukhyata, fa enna al ghuloola yakoonu alaa ahlehe aaran wa naaran wa shanaaran yawma al qeyaamate." The Hadeeth means: O men! A man from the األنصارAnsaar returned a ball of camel hair and said: O Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam I took this ball to make a pad for a sore camel of mine. The Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam said: "Ammaa naseebee menhaa fa laka". The Hadeeth means: As for my share in that you can keep it. The man said: If it has come to that, I do not want it. He threw it away. "أما نصيبي منها فلك."

So عقيلAqeel came back to his wife and said: I am afraid you have lost your needle, and he took it and threw it into the common stock. Winning hearts to Eslaam Ebnu إبن إسحاقEs-haaq said: Then the Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam gave livestock to those called Al Mu-allafate قلوبهمQuloobehem Those /المؤلفة whose hearts were to be won over. These were the chiefs of the people to win their hearts to Islaam. My spoil and that of Ubayd my horse Is shared by Uyaynah and Al Aqra. Though I protected my people in the battle, Myself unprotected I was given nothing But a few small camels To the number of their four legs! Yet neither Haabes nor Hesn Surpass my father in the assembly, And I am not inferiorto either of them. And he whom you demean today will not be exalted. بكري على المهر في األجرع \\\ كانت نهابا تالقيتها إذا هجع الناس لم أهجع \\\ وإيقاظي القوم أن يرقدوا د بين عيينة وألقرع \\\ فأصبح نهبي ونهب العبي- فلم أعط شيئاولم أمنع \\\ وقد كنت في الحرب ذا تدرإ عديد قوائمها األربع \\\ إال أفائل أعطيتها يفوقان شيخي في المجمع \\\ وما كان حصن وال حابس \\\ ومن تضع اليوم ال يرفع وما كنت دون امرئ منهما

79 79 The Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam said: "Eth-habuu behe, fa aqta oo annee lesaanahu". The Hadeeth means: "اذهبوا به فاقطعوا عني لسانه."
