1 1 ثسى هللا انشح انشح ى ح زحHamzah s Expedition to the س ف انجحشSea-Shore on Rabee u Al Awwal\ سث ع األول of the انهجشح Hejrah\ second year of Al On Thursady 12 Thoo Al 1436 / روانمعذح\ Qacdah 27 August 2015 we visited Prophet Muhammad ان ذ خ Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam in Al Madeenah Al Munawwarah and then, next day on Friday, after the salaat of Jumu ah, we visited the grave of his,ان ىسح father Abdu Allaahe ben Abdu Al عجذ هللا ث عجذ ان طهت\ Muttaleb on the west side of the masjed. On this Friday 13 Thoo Al Qa dah 1436 Hejree \ 28 August 2015 after the morning prayer I visited the graveyard of Al,انجم ع\ Baqee and after the visit to Al Sayyed Abdu Allaahe ben Abdu Al عجذ هللا ث عجذ ان طهت\ Muttaleb we bought some dates and transferred to the village of انفمعه \ AlFaq alee, two hundred and seven kilometers to the west of Al Madeenah Al ان ىسح\ Munawwarah,ان ذ خ where the mountain of سضىي\ Radwaa is located. This was, as we discovered, an extremely dangerous mountain road with one lane to each direction, with very dangerous sharp bends. We arrived at انفمعه \ AlFaq alee at sunset when the آرا \ Aathaan was being called for Maghreb combined in صالح انعشبء\ Eshaa and صالح ان غشة\ Maghreb salaat in the masjeds. We prayed يغشة\ the main masjed of the village. There were no hotels at all in the village, so we had to drive to Yanbu Al جع انجحش\ Bahr about one hundred kilometers to the west, on the shore of the Red Sea. We found accommodation in the Ibis hotel. In the past, Yanbu Al جع انجحش\ Bahr used to be the port city of Al Madeenah Al ان ىسح\ Munawwarah,ان ذ خ and today it is a major oil terminal and that is exported to Europe and America. In this city are also located some of the major oil refineries of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and some major power stations of the country. Next morning, on Saturday, we returned to the village of فمعه \ Faq alee to see the mountain of سضىي\ Radwaa and take its picture as you will see in its chapter. Ibnu Ishaaq\ إث إسحبق said: The Expedition of ح زح\ Hamzah Alayhessalaamu The Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam while in Waddaan\,ودا which is also known as The raid of Abwaa-u\ األثىاء غزوح the first of his raids Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam and before returning to Al Madeenah Al Munawwarah \ ان ذ خ ان ىسح, he sent Hamzah ben Abdu Al Muttaleb\ ح زح ث عجذ ان طهت to the sea-shore in the neighborhood of Al Ees\ انع ص the territory of Juhaynah\ جه خ with thirty

So the people separated one from another without fighting. Some people say tha ح زحHamza s flag was the first which the Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam gave to any Muslim because he sent him and Ubaydah\ عج ذح at the same time, and thus people became confused on the point. They alleged that ح زحHamzah had composed poetry in which he says that his flag was the first which the Messenger of Allaah Sallaa Allaahu Alayhe Wa Alaa Aalehe Wa Sallam entrusted to anyone. Now if ح زحHamzah actually said that, it is true if Allaah\ هللا wills. He would have not said it if it were not true, but Allaah \ هللا knows what happened. We heard from learned people that Ubaydah ben Al Haareth ben Al Muttaleb ben Abdu Manaaf \ عج ذح ث انحبسس ث ان طهت ث عجذ ي بف - and his grandfather Al ان طهتMuttaleb is the brother of Haashem\ هبشى - was the first to receive a flag. ح زحHamzah said concerning that, so they allege: 1.أال ب نمىي نهزحهى وانجهم 2.ونهشاكج ب ثبن ظبنى نى طأ 3.كأ ب رجه بهى وال رجم ع ذ ب 4.وأيش ثئسالو فال مجهى ه 5.ف ب ثشحىا حز ا زذثذ نغبسح 6.ثأيش سسىل هللا أول خبفك 7.نىاء نذ ه ان صش ي ر كشايخ 8.عش خ سبسوا حبشذ وكه ب 9.فه ب رشاء ب أ بخىا فعمهىا يطب ب 11.فمه ب نهى: "حجم اإلنه ص ش ب 11.فضبس أثىجهم ه بنك ثبغ ب 12.ويب ح إال ف صالص ساكجب 13.ف ب نهؤ ال رط عىا غىاركى 14.فئ أخبف أ صت عه كى ونه مص ي سأ انشجبل ونهعمم نهى حشيبد ي سىاو وال أهم نهى غ ش أيش ثبنعفبف وثبنعذل و زل ي هى يضم ي زنخ انهزل نهى ح ش حهىا أثزغ ساحخ انفضم عه ه نىاء نى ك الح ي لجه إنه عز ز فعهه أفضم انفعم يشاجهه ي غ ظ أصحبثه رغه وعمه ب يذي غشض ان ج م ويب نكى إال انضالنخ ي حجم" فخبة وسد هللا ك ذ أث جهم وهى يئزب ثعذ واحذح فضم وف ئىا إن اإلسالو وان هج انسهم عزاة فزذعىا ثبن ذايخ وانزكم.

3 3 A.Guillaume translated this poem as follows: 1.Wonder, O my people, at good sense and at folly, At lack of sound counsel and at sensible advice, 2.At those who have wronged us, while we have left Their people and their property inviolate, 3.As though we had attacked them; But all we did was to enjoin chastity and justice 4.And call them to Islam, but they received it not, And they treated it as a joke. 5.They ceased not so until I volunteered to attack them Where they dwelt, desiring the satisfaction of a task well done 6.At the Messenger s command-the first to march beneath his flag, Seen with none before me, 7.A victorious flag from a Generouse Mighty Ilaah,. إنه عز ز Whose acts are the most gracious 8.At even they sallied forth together, Each man s pot burning with his companion s rage; 9.When we saw each other, they halted and hobbled the camels, And we did the same an arrow-shot distant. 10.We said to them: Allaah s\ هللا rope is our victorious defense, You have no rope but error. 11.Aboo Jahl\ أثىجهم warred there unjustly, And was disappointed, for هللاAllaah frustrated his schemes. 12.We were but thirty riders, while they were two hundred and one. Therefore, O lu-ayy\,نؤ obey not your deceivers, 13.Return to Islam and the easy path, For I fear that punishment will be poured upon you. 14.And you will cry out in remorse and sorrow.
