1 ح ب ون نف قوا م م ا ت وا ال ب ر حت ى ت ال ن ل ن ت و م ا ت نف ق وا م ن ش ي ء ف إ ن الل ل يم ه ب ه ع [3:93] Never shall you attain to righteousness unless you spend out of that which you love; and whatever you spend, Allah surely knows it well. In this verse, Allah has explained the condition of those who spend their wealth in the way of God. The companions of the Holy Prophet (sa) were forefront in this field as they presented numerous sacrifices to adopt Taqwa and to win the pleasure of Allah. It is narrated about one companion (ra) that he said to the Holy Prophet (sa) that I have a garden near the Prophet s mosque which is dearest to me. Today I present it in the way of Allah. Today, the community of the Promised Messiah (as) is keeping these traditions alive. Ahmadis continue to give numerous sacrifices from their hard earned wealth. All of this is due to the teachings and training given by the Promised Messiah (as). He once said: Man dearly loves wealth in this world. This is why to attain real virtue and faith, Allah has said that you will never be able to attain true righteousness unless you spend what is most dear to you. So Ahmadis are presenting sacrifices with this spirit and hope to receive their reward from Allah. The Holy Prophet (sa) once said that whoever presents one date out of his legitimate earnings, Allah will accept this date with his right hand and will continue to increase it until it becomes like a mountain. We are well aware that these aren t tales of past as Ahmadis are experiencing such blessings today as well. A Missionary of Cameroon writes that an Ahmadi was unemployed for a year and was living in poverty. One day he heard about Chanda Tehrik Jadid. He had 10,000 franc in his pocket which he paid towards Chanda. A few days later, he returned and said that God has accepted my sacrifice. A private company has employed me with a monthly salary of 100,000 franc, which is ten times more than my sacrifice. Therefore, I will present my salary of first month in this way.

2 Ameer Sahib Canada writes that a lajna member, who was employed part-time, was encouraged to pay half of her income of one month towards Tehrik Jadid. She promised some amount, but expressed her desire to find a full-time employment and thus pay one full month salary. Thereafter, by the grace of God, she found a full time employment with a monthly salary of $5000. We have been witnessing these blessings of God since the inception of Jama at. Most Ahmadis are well aware that this is the age of propagation of Islam which is being done through construction of mosques, literature, Jamia etc. Similarly, the Promised Messiah (as) has written that sympathy of mankind is also part of our faith. Therefore, schools, hospitals, clinics etc are also operated through these sacrifices. May Allah grant such loyal servants to Jama at until the Day of Judgment who continue to present enormous financial sacrifices. As per practice, today I am announcing the start of 84th year of Tehrik Jadid. The figures from the 83rd year are as follows: Total participation: Over 12.5 million pounds, an increase of over 1.5 million from last year. Total participants: Over 1.6 million, an increase of over 200,000 from last year. Top 10 positions in total collection (other than Pakistan): Germany, UK, America, Canada, India, Australia, Indonesia, 2 Middle East countries, Ghana. Top 10 positions in collection per head: 2 Middle East countries, Switzerland, UK, USA, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Canada. Top 5 local Imaraat in Canada: Vaughan, Peace Village, Brampton, Vancouver, Mississauge. May Allah bless the wealth of all participants. Hazoor Anwar also announced a new Tehreek (plan) for reconstruction of Baitul Futuh Mosque. He advised all UK Ahmadis in particular and all able Ahmadis worldwide to participate in this Tehreek. This mosque caught fire 2 years ago and its reconstruction requires 11

3 million pounds, half of which is already present. For the remaining half, Ahmadis should present their sacrifices.
