POLICY FOR CERTIFICATES OF ELIGIBILITY In order to receive a Certificate of Eligibility to be a Godparent/Sponsor for Baptism or Confirmation, you must be a practicing Catholic registered in the parish. If married, you must be married in the church. You must attend Mass regularly. The use of your envelope each week will tell us that you are attending regularly. This will avoid problems or embarrassments in the future. MARRIAGES Arrangements must be made one year prior to the marriage date. Please call the Rectory. SOLEMN EUCHARISTIC ADORATION is held every Thursday at 12 noon & Wednesday evening at 6:30pm.The Holy Eucharist is exposed followed by the Miraculous Medal Novena, Rosary, and Benediction. 3 PENTECOST SUNDAY STEWARDS GIVE BACK There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same Spirit; there are different forms of service but the same Lord; there are different workings but the same God who produces all of them in everyone. 1 CORINTHIANS 12:4-6 All of us are blessed, regardless of our own individual circumstances; God has given each of us many gifts. How we use those gifts in STEWARDSHIP is our gift back to God. For God s plan to work, each must do what we are called to do and guess what-we are not all called to do the same thing! The Coordinator would be responsible for the development, organization and administration of programs for youth (high school students) and young adults to fulfill the catechetical mission of the parish. This includes community building, service opportunities, planning and implementing programs and events, and leading youth and young adults into deeper life of discipleship. 4 PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR SICK: CAP MAY PROGRAM The Office of Child and Youth Protection is announcing CAP (Child Assault Prevention) sessions. CAP is the safe environment training program for adults who have regular contact with minors. Attendance is required in order to comply with the USCCB Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. The policy of the Diocese of Camden is that adults will attend CAP once every five years. CAP 1 teaches attendees to RECOGNIZE CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT and how to report to the proper authorities. Wednesday, May 30th at 6:00pm at Holy Family (Aquin Center) 226 Hurffville Rd., Sewell CAP 2 is called CAP S BULLYING PREVENTION PROGRAM and is a workshop addressing bullying awareness and bullying prevention. CAP 3 is called CYBER EMPOWERMENT and is a workshop which promotes adults understanding of cyber activity of youth while teaching them realistic ways to help children keep their own rights and guard the rights of others in the cyber sphere. 5 GLOUCESTER CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL NEWS HOST FAMILIES NEEDED FOR CHINESE STUDENTS TO ATTEND GCHS IN Gloucester Catholic has partnered with IVY International (IIG). They are a leading educational placement agency for students from China who study in private high schools throughout the U.S. There is a growing need for families who are willing to open their homes to our students and become a host for the school year. The camp will be under the direction of Mr. Pat Murphy, former head coach of the GCHS Basketball Team. The camp will be offered July 23rd to July 26th. Registration will begin at 12 noon. A putting contest will precede the 1:30 shotgun start. As usual, our format will be best ball of foursome. This golf tournament is named for Rev. Fr. John Sullivan who spent over twenty years of his life serving the Gloucester Catholic and St. Mary s Community. Sully was a friend to all who came in contact with him. We name the tournament in his honor to carry on the spirit of commitment that he gave to Gloucester Catholic. Profit from this tournament help fund Alumni Scholarships and the Athletic Department. The NJ Governor s Budget for Fiscal Year 2019 ( school year) cut the ceiling for non-public school transportation from $1,000 to $ Last year, the Legislature increased that ceiling to $1,000 per pupil. Restoring this transportation ceiling is our TOP PRIOITY! Also, the funding for Non-Public Scholl Nursing and Technology accounts that were provided by the Legislature for the school year (a total of $3.8 million) were cut by Governor Murphy in the proposed FY 2019 Budget. WHAT CAN YOU DO? Please ask your State Legislators to restore the ceiling for non-public school transportation to last year s amount of $1,000, and restore the amount for nursing and technology to at least the amounts of the school year. Ask your legislators to encourage their colleagues on the Budget Committee to restore the funding to at least the amounts. Memorial Day Mass at St. Mary s Cemetery on Browning Road in Bellmawr, NJ will be held on Monday, May 28th, 2018 at 10:00AM in the Mausoleum Chapel. Our Lady of Peace Parish/St. Mary s Church in Williamstown will hold its Annual Carnival, Monday June 25th through Saturday, June 30th from 6:00PM too 10:00PM on the church grounds. Featured will be games, rides, amusements, refreshments of all kinds, and of course, fun for all ages.
