Jesus teaches us how to live it in the parable of the Good Samaritan. The Lord Jesus concludes by saying, "Go and do likewise." Living the Greatest Commandment, the Law of Love, is often met with opposition from our maze of social constructs, our politics, our personal attitudes, and our own self-centeredness. Yet God's grace is greater still, as noted in our second reading: Jesus brings reconciliation to all things, making peace through the blood of His Cross, both on earth and in heaven. Let us embrace the Grace to work together in God's great and glorious Kingdom, now and forever! Thank You for being faithful parishioners. Blessings upon you, Fr. Gabriel GRACE 2.0 As an Amazing Parish, our mission challenges us to engage the Spirit within our own lives to serve the lives and needs of others. Our readings speak a great deal about the law and laws are surely needed to keep good order. But laws will never be enough to build a just society. The Law of Mercy urges us to see others need and pain, bringing our heart gifts, time gifts, and presence gifts up close and personal to feed and support them. Law is external to us, rather easily measured. Mercy and compassion, love and care are internal and can be measured only in terms of the good we actually do for others. Our question today might be: Who would recognize us, our Parish, as a Good Samaritan? Together we can become an Awesome Samaritan! Our 2017 Mass intention is open! In an attempt to meet the needs of parishioners, guidelines for scheduling masses are: You may schedule 3 mass intentions per year. You may schedule only one mass intention on a weekend per year. This allows more people the chance to schedule a weekend mass for their loved ones. A mass intention can include a maximum of 3 individual names. Otherwise, simply list the intention for the Smith family. Stop by or call the office ( ) and talk with Donna to schedule masses! We extend a warm welcome to the newly registered members of St. Joseph the Work parish community. WELCOME Kerry & Rob Rogers & Family Leo & Felicia Seay Jr. & Family Melissa & Jacob Kotz & Family Richard & Norene Ruden
