Our Altar Guild at all communion services offers grape juice (the smaller chalice), as well as wine, for intinction, the dipping of wafer into the wine or juice. 5 + RAYER OF THE DAY Let us pray. O God of life, you reach out to us amid our fears with the wounded hands of your risen Son. By your Spirit's breath revive our faith in your mercy, and strengthen us to be the body of your Son, Jesus hrist, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen FIRST READING: Acts 5: When they had brought the apostles, they had them stand before the council. 11 ANNOUNEMENTS The flowers on the hancel this morning are given by Heidi & Mike Dziubla in celebration of her nephew s birthday. A ALL FOR ATION Every week, Shepherd of the Glades will be collecting and donating canned and boxed food to help persons in need at St. Matthew s House, Grace lace, and Immokalee Friendship House. Suggested items are canned food of all kinds, powdered milk, peanut butter, jellies/jams, cereals, soups, rice, pasta, etc. Items need to be within code date and unopened. Just bring your donations to the hurch and give to the ushers. All items are being delivered locally. The last delivery was to St. Matthew s House. LEAVING FOR THE NORTH? Leaving for the North? Be sure to let us know on the form on the Narthex counter. If you have food you need to dispose of before leaving, remember you may leave it at our food collection spot also in the Narthex and we ll be sure it gets to a local needy agency. We completed the restrooms in Hanson Hall, and the kitchen is next. We have been offered matching funds for any monies received in March, April, and May up to $15,000. FLORIDA BATIST S HILDREN S HOMES (FOSTER ARE ROGRAM) Florida Baptist hildren s Homes has a continual need for items in order to serve the children in their foster homes. Most of these children come to them with just the clothing on their backs. One of the items mentioned as needed was giving them their own blanket. A list of needed items and a collection box are in the Narthex. Thank you in advance for opening your heart and your wallet to help these children in need.
