Mark 16:15 This is the first official document to wish you a Happy New Year!! I trust you ve had a wonderful, Christ-filled holiday and New Year. Know my prayers are with you as you seek to be obedient, faithful witnesses for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I am excited about the work before us and praying each of us will commit anew to the work of His church to make His name known to the nations! The past six months have been very hectic in many ways. I want to thank you for your continued prayers. During these months, my mother has had two major cancer surgeries and multiple hospitalizations. At the time of this writing she is in the hospital for the 3rd. Time in In addition, I underwent several tests and postponed surgeries until January 8th of this year. After years of regularly passing kidney stones, the doctors say I am 100% kidney stone free. THANK YOU so much for your prayerful support. MARCH 9th Franklin County Mission Meeting (Homeless Shelter) 9:00am-10:00am TRBA Prayer Drive 7:00am-9:00am TRBA 9th RA Derby Race 5:30pm TRBA 13th Finance Committee Meeting 12:30pm-2:30pmTRBA 19th Pastor s Fellowship Meeting 11:30am TRBA 19th Short Term Mission Training 6:00pm TRBA 31st Easter Sunday Please check our website for upcoming events, calendars, party trailer information etc. There are some exciting things taking place in 2013 in TRBA that I believe will strengthen the local church so that we can better impact lostness in this generation. There will be several training events in upcoming weeks that will assist the local church. Make the extra effort to get your church leadership to participate and you will be strengthened. You will begin to note improvements in our website therefore bringing more resources to you by way of the internet. A resurgence in our partnership missions efforts as mission trips will be announced soon and TRBA will offer training sessions encouraging the local church to form their own partnerships in their communities and around the world. There will be an increased effort to engage our member churches in the use of our PARTY TRAILER a TREMEN- DOUS resource for your church group to use in its efforts to minister to the needs of your community. I could go on and on, but just ask that you check the website OFTEN and share with your church family the life and work of your association. Of all the resources you have as a member of the Tar River Baptist Association, your TRBA Staff is at the top. Each of us stand ready to assist you in ANY way that we can!! Do not hesitate to call on us and we will do our very best for you. I thank God daily for the staff He has brought together here in this association. Sherri, Meredith, and I have been around for a while and in those 2 ladies you have passionate servants of the local church and tremendous prayer warriors as well!! Though Matthew is new to the staff he has already brought a lot to the table, but I believe as a pastor and a student serving as your intern he will prove to be a tremendous asset to the churches of the association. As we begin the New Year, I once again commit to you my prayers and willingness to serve you. I invite you to join me in fervent prayer for our member churches and the work that God has called us to do TOGETHER. Throughout 2013 we invite you to PRAY with expectancy, and trust God to deliver! May God bless you and yours as you serve the Lord this year and may He use you mightily to accomplish His purpose! All is Christ, Dougald
